It's because we need to fill the home grown criteria, if that wasn't a thing i'm sure he'd be out the door.
This is another reason we need to sort the academy out, you have to have home grown players in the squad and if you want to be a top team, they better be good enough and not just there to make up the numbers and be 4th choice.

I get it, our goal should be as high as possible, but goals then expectations.
