That just irritates me. I could give that list to Ashworth and say "have at it". I could also tell Ashworth that every one of those players will be quoted at £50m+. Surely the job of a scout is to work within a budget and not just present a list of "players who had a decent season"? Our player interest always looks really narrow.
They could just be smokescreens for what they are keeping very quiet mind much like Bruno.
Everyone was excited for summer, but it's been very similar to an Ashley's window so far. The only exception being Botman, but let's not forget we did spent 150 on his last 2 years at the club.

Make no mistake (did you see what I did there) it will take a long time.
I’ve said from day one the commercial deals are the driver behind it. If we don’t get them in place we can forget about spending significantly.
PIF are not there to spunk billions and nor can they.
You can make the road shorter with clever recruitment and identification of the issue. I still think/hope we get the CF and RW we desperately, desperately need.
I think pif are here to do that, but it'll snowball as the club is grown. Once the club gets in the position they'll just keep cranking it up again and again and again.
The situation though is they have to grow poundland into the next galacticos.. It's really the 1st year of 10.

If you had 60m to spend before the window ends who would you buy and realistically how much for each player.
So here we are ****s, 500 pages and naff all signings for the last month.
Although I do take solace in 3 decent players being already signed, thus the "bring in any old ****e on deadline day" practise of the Ashley era is in the past.
Harrison is a no brainer, just sign him ffs.

Things always seem to go quiet in the middle of the window while everyone is watching each other and what they are doing or going to do... Mad start, quiet middle, madness ensuing until Deadline day.
Sometimes ya gotta do that, Chelsea and Man U paid fortunes to bring back Lukaku and Pogba, but both at the time were apparently "the missing piece of the jigsaw ".
I'd say we can get Toney and Harrison for £30m... so why are we waiting?
