Yep, Roly would definitely crack if they were our partnership up front.

Guys, we are where we are. It'll be a lovely day tomorrow as the song goes. But at this juncture our games in Europe will mostly consist of a friendly or two in Dublin! PSG or us? AC Milan or us? These guys haven't seen Seahouses and Whitley Bay, never mind the Quayside.

Now a bloke like Pukki, please hear me out for a moment, Pukki can be a statement signing for this moment. He'd fit, possibly more cosily than Wood has. It would tell the likes of cash strapped Lille that they've made one hell of a clanger if they want too much for their player, and we aren't lining up to be their b*tch.

If he signed and scored his usual number of goals (his Prem average is 11 league goals per season for the poorest club - how many does Wilson typically get?), and he helped us get the odd win rather than a draw, helped us keep our 2022 "Champions League form" going (or let's get wildly delusional and say even improve it), then the Mbappes et al, who need Europe as a minimum to keep their massive egos massaged, would be a much easier catch when we take the next step.

If I was to go further and delved into contraversial elephant in the room type questions, how about this - if Wilson is our top striker - he's class and we love him, how good does Pukki compare?

I'm kind of lost, why would we buy a striker to show Lille we're not their bitch when it's their centre back we're after.

Let me shine a torch on your path. Ekitike is the striker target we've been after and he plays for Reims not Lille.
All right men, I've edited my complicated post. I've also got a torch. It's shining on any club that keeps putting prices up for any player in any position we want. Last season it appeared to be Man U with Lingard. Today it's Lille with Botman. I guess many will try it on.

Sell Gayle and get Pukki in. That’s progress. That’s what we want. Right?

If you where Liverpool would you:-
  • Sell Salah for £100m now or
  • Keep him for next season but he leaves on a free?

If anyone came in with £100m I think every Liverpool fan would take it. Truth is max anyone would prob pay is £50m which is meh really.
