Step by step. It has to be all relative.

There is an old saying isn’t there. You need to walk before you can run.

Im extremely happy with the progress in the last 8 months.

I mean imagine being nunez for example.. Nufc to him is a nothing club, it's not in Europe, it's not the most desirable place to live,.... Then the training ground is like an 80's sports hall.

The fact is he'll have better options.... Seriously what would you do if you didn't support newcastle?. Don't tell me you wouldn't choose Liverpool or a club at the very top with better facilities and more glamour.

Once nufc have world class facilities it'll be easier.

Absolutely I would choose another club. The only pull we have is the 90’s era and players now where not even born.

So unless the money is astronomical or they are literally sold the dream somehow they would just turn their noses up.

We can unearth gems though and that is what we need to do.

Newcastle are now higher in the pecking order than under Mike ashley, but it doesn't mean they can take everything they want. Far from it.

It's as much about who the bigger clubs don't want.

Matt targett was my first choice.

- Good defensively
- Good dead ball deliveries
- Good crossing
- Works hard.
- Consistent.
- Already proven himself at this level and at this club.

How on earth he wasn't everyones number 1 option is beyond me.

Why would we sign anyone else?

I think people wanted him and another player and if Targett gets injured you might finally absorb the reason why.

I really liked Targett, so excellent that he signed. And an indication of the club, right? I mean, we loaned Willock, kept us up, then took us to deadline day (more or less) to sign him pemanently and he was the only signing of the entire Summer.

This way we've at the very least stood still, have also indicated ASM isn't for sale and it's only cost us £12m. By all account Ekitike - if he fancies it - is on loan with a guaranteed payment of £25m or so in Jan. Meaning the £60-80m we have is largely untouched.

So this is it then gentlemen... Ashworth installed the first signing confirmed.

I understand Jan was the 1st window, but it wasn't exactly a stress free period..

We can just enjoy this now.
