On a season long loan before the window closed, like Shodipo and Smyth though reported we have an option to recall these 2 in January.
Part of warbs statement about capt Mannering not quoted in a previous post i.e. “I wish Ryan all the best but I only want players to be here who want to contribute to the team performance.”........can't contribute if you don't play him! No player is obliged to sign a contract extension....petty and pretty dumb not to play a player who would have held a place in the team based on non committal to 'future' committal so early in season. Not as if they are playing out the season. The paltry fee received probably would have been higher if he played up to the transfer window and the club could still have sold him.
Spoke to my pal who is a scout at the club, and this lad is in his age group. Says he is huge for his age, very powerful, and has been given a years scholarship deal, so not much risk there if he doesn't cut it.
He's got a couple of other youngsters he's trying to get through the door as well which he rates highly. Hopefully one of them will make the grade and make the club some big money in the future.
