On what grounds are you arriving at your valuation of £10-15m?

There are an awful lot of transfer market experts on here - maybe they should be offering their services to Lee Hoos to negotiate deals on the club's behalf.....
Che Adam's £15m Jarrod Bowen £22m Jack Clarke £10m. BOS miles better than Clarke not as good as Bowen so somewhere around £15m

Clark and Bowen had a lot more time on their contracts.
I would also put Bowen more in the Eze box...which is why I hope we get some form of 20million for him. Bowen was really needed by WestHam and they were desperate for him...and I have a feeling he has actually helped to keep them up, so money well spent.

Clarke is younger than BOS too and was considered a real star, like James of Swansea/Man United. (Obviously maybe not now).

Ontop of that Covid has changed things a bit, far less money available, and with BOS having only a year left, we cannot afford to wait

Not quite the same

Couldn't do much worse.

Has Bright been consistently a top player? Its only really this season he's started to emerge properly. Is that really enough to command a 10m+ fee?
Yes. The guy has electric pace, good holding ability, and strength. He would be an excellent addition for a PL Club, and a snip at £10 million. Would you prefer BOS or £10 million Clarke. Certainly Warburton has shown he prefers BOS by starting him regularly.

Am I the only one who thinks the club have probably already borrowed on the strength of BOS and Eze transfer fees?

With Covid closing down the stadium and therefore most of our income stream, I would imagine some nice Bank Manager has been digging deep to keep the club running and the players paid. I doubt very much that we had a few million in our back pocket to keep us going the last 4 months.

I can't see any of the £4.7m being reinvested in new players. I would say it is to keep the club afloat. Just my opinion.
I think it was Hoos who said we've kept going through Corona because a £1 million pound was coming in regularly from our Owners every month.

No matter what your thoughts on the final valuation, we have lost one of our best players. I dont blame Samuel in the slightest. Champions league football or a relegation scrap in the championship. Players have ambition and if their club cant match it then they will obviously want to move. Comparisons will always be made, clarke, Costa are two that I named. James at man utd is another who I dont rate as highly. At least we have made some profit on the kid, which will help keep us afloat as that's what we are all about nowadays.

My opinion is that a lot of us watch our team and in particular some of our players with rose tinted glasses. BOS is a decent championship winger with pace to scare defences at this level. He does run hot and cold though. No way do I see him as a star of the premiership and I think just shy of 5M is a fair valuation.
Eze is similar with his form. They are both confidence players and when things are going right they can be scintillating at this level but they both turn in way too many average performances to be valued so highly. I think anything over 12M for Eze is a decent deal and I am surprised we are not protecting this asset as well.
Manning can be great going forward but he is hopeless as a defender, falls over far too often and is regularly caught out of position. I would love to see stats showing where the plays come from that lead to us conceding. 2M.
Chair has been the biggest dissapointment for me. He looked fantastic out on loan last season but has struggled to find any of that form and consistency in the championship. I really hope he comes on again next season with the chance that he will doubtless have coming his way.

Of course an alternative view is that some of these fees were actually ridiculously high and the selling clubs got lucky. Would the same players command the same fees now?

Who knows?

The reality of the situation is that transfer fees represent an agreed price at a point in time with seller wanting to achieve the highest price and the buyer the reverse

A seller under pressure may sell for less than they want and a buyer under pressure may spend more

We have no way knowing what position the club is really in or what the owners plans really are, but I 'm confident that they will have achieved the best price they can

Having spoken to a lot of my leeds supporting friends, they would have loved him ahead of Costa who they feel they have paid over the odds for, on the other hand they say they are surprised theyve not been done for fraud, receiving 10m for clarke! They also would love Eze to replace the ageing Hernandez.

The latest wonder kid from the Championship is Jude Bellingham and having watched him a few times I really dont see it but he is off to Dortmund for around 23M and will no doubt be valued around 100M when they sell him to the Premier League in two years time.

I totally get that mate. I think buying clubs know of our well documented situation and use that knowledge well.

That is one hell of a gamble for a 17 yo

Quite a coup for Birmingham

Of course the one that really got away for us was Sterling - what a player he is now

Once Liverpool went into schmoozing mode, we never stood a chance of keeping Sterling. But we did get a decent sell-on clause, so we can be very thankful for that. Should be part of any deal we do from now on.

He is only 17...and so he really is looked at as a prospect who canbe moulded.
BOS is 22, for a winger like him, he is probably at the top of his abilities....which have all been nutured here.

I think he will do well in Belgium for a couple of years, but not in the champions league.
For his career he HAS to move now...and we have Shodipo...who I think could be BOS in a years time

I can't remember being so pissed off about a transfer since Stan went. Les was bad but that had been expected for seasons. BOS young, electric, is going to get better still. I reckon if we'd waited just a few weeks we'd have easily got twice that. Got him to sign a new contract, probably far more in a couple of seasons. Lack of ambition from the Club before the restart, and now lack of balls is letting him go cheap, unless we can still accept and take a better offer- but perhaps it's already too late for that.

Apparently not over yet....Leicester, Fulham and Brighton are showing interest
