Tottenham are favourites to sign Aston Villa's English midfielder Jack Grealish, 22, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is waiting to exploit the Championship club's financial troubles. (Mirror)

I know Levy sees himself as somebody to drive a hard deal, but something about this just seems really snide and underhand.

One day somebody is going to see him in a backstreet, kick him in the **** and nick his wallet.

I call it smart thinking

It is, but it's also ****ish.

It's like seeing your mate trying to sell his car coz he's struggling financially and only offering him £2.5k for a £6 grand motor.

Then I s'pose Villa ain't his mates....

Exactly...**** Villa or has John Terry left?

Football’s dog eat dog.

It’s just being smart to (try and) buy someone for less than what their club value them at. £35m+ for Grealish or circa £20m instead? No brainer. Villa only have themselves to blame anyway, they’ve spent a fortune in the Championship in the hope they could buy their way to promotion but they’ve fallen short and now suffering the consequences.

Jack Grealish ain't even worth £20m imo. Very overrated and has done nothing yet other than show he's got an attitude problem.
So if Levy wants him then I suppose he should go in low.

I think in this market £20m is good money. I saw a number of Villa games this season because they had Josh Onomah from us on loan, Grealish was always head and shoulders above anyone on the pitch. Still only 22 and is Villa’s main man, they may not be the best of sides at the moment but they’re a massive club and to be the top boy there is pretty big. Their fans are having a meltdown on social media at the prospect of losing him so I always take that as a good sign, lol.

I've watched him too. He's decent enough but massively inconsistent. Maybe that has more to do with the team around him ? Would be a gamble imo, looks like he could be another David Bentley

Yeah he’s far from the finished product but I think that’s something Poch likes working with. If we get him for £20m-£25m I think it could turn out a real good signing. Most of our best buys tend to be young English players so hopefully he continues that trend. He’ll probably wanna make the Euro 2020 squad so could be a good time to buy him.

Grealish has a lot of ability, working with Poch could help him grow and fulfil his potential. Would be a good signing for Spurs I think. People bang on about his attitude problem but all I can remember is him getting **** faced in Magaluf or something when he was 18 and a picture going round of him passed out on the street. Big ****ing deal.

That's my fear...seems like a poor man's Joe Cole to me...if we buy him I hope he makes me eat humble pie but I doubt it.

Can the boy hack it under the Pochettino regime ??

Inflated ego ??
Difficult in a squad that tries to be ego-less, and has
players already delivering to a decent standard for
both club and country.

Does he think he is bigger than Villa, or that league ??
Difficult to be so, when we already have one of those
who actually was (and ONLY COST 5 mil ... ) .

It will probably come down to what Levy does on the
transfer fee, and what he deems are acceptable
initial wages for Grealish.

I think as saintmagic said, the attitude stuff is probably a bit fabricated. He got ****ed on holiday as a young lad... I’m 28 and still get ****ed.

His wages are £20k according to reports so we’ll easily double/ triple those.

I get the feeling he probably don’t actually wanna leave Villa, seems a proper Villa boy but knows that a) they need dough and b) if he has aspirations of becoming the player many thought he’d be at an early age as well as crack into the England side, then he’ll need to prove himself on a bigger stage.

That reminds me, when are you changing your avatar after losing your bet with Fosse ?

Beginning of the season isn't it ? I'll look out for it <ok>

Isn't it about time you gave up on that tired win, Pix?

It sounds desperate and needy.

Just how naive are you, Pix?

Payet back to West Ham? ~This rumour comes from exWHUemployee who is usually the best ITK at West Ham, seems he's open to a return and has been in contact via his representatives.
