It’s quite interesting how close to the city model this stuff is. The prices, the calibre, the type of player being signed (potentially). Barella is a little like Joelinton but does his work on the right so makes an awful lot of sense and would be a huge coup. Don’t know we’d then also sign Maddison, think there might be attitude questions about him, but could be wrong.

Luke Edwards appears to have been one of the first to break the story. So yeah, sadly adds a fair dose of doubt. He is doubling down on it though in face of negative Italian media reports this evening. To be honest, Italian media being hostile to the idea probably means little in and of itself - remember all the stories they ran stating that Botman wasn't interested in nufc at all, would run to Milan rather than consider us etc. Reliable stuff.
