Proven, consistent goal threat. Value for money. British. Christ, we've been so wasteful in front of goal, having a genuine, consistent goal threat from the wing is a big plus. LW Barnes will get a good few. RW, Miggy... Jury out obviously (past scars), but 1 season in with EH saw him produce the goods last year, but he needs help. RCM Tonali - no way he'll go to pieces as much as Longstaff. LCM Big Joe was starting to find his shooting boots a bit towards the end of the season. CM Bruno LW and RCM immediately increase our chances of scoring goals vs what we had last season, while also keeping good rotational quality.
He'll take the piss out there. They'll love him. The league is currently ****e despite surface investment. Watched highlights of Ronaldo's lot getting stuffed 5-0 by Celta Vigo. Some of it was woeful.
Please let this be true... Shields Gazette: "Ryan Fraser and Karl Darlow have both emerged as potential options for Leeds United this summer..."
Indeed. And Leeds seem to be looking to offload Meslier, so this would make sense. Although other reports are suggesting Darlow could be signing for Bournemouth Instead.
We never seem to use the loan market these days. Would be ideal to bring in a 3rd choice striker without spending money.
It is crazy that he is still in that role when every other department is now properly run. Amateur hour or what.
I'm unsure what our actual strategy even is. On one hand, we go out and sign no brainer players, Bruno, Tonali, Isak and spend large sums of money. But then on the other hand, we have these Ashworth deals, signing young players for a few million here and there, without much of a clue if they're even any good. I'd love to know the combined amount of money we have spent on these lads. It's like we are trying to be a City, sign top players the price be damned and make fast progress, but also sign young emerging talent and ... what? Flip em for a profit? Be in the starting 11? I'd like to see financially Newcastle becoming a more profitable club, as we have made progress in that department which I would consider substandard. I find it hard to believe that after a year and a half and a champions league spot, only a relatively small Saudi based company in Sela was interested in sponsoring us. I'm also not a fan of the how Saudi-Centric Newcastle is becoming. It appears everything we do involves Saudi Arabia in some form.
It improves the 1st team so does Tonali .... this seems the approach... Happy with existing underbelly and looking to take the side to the next level. There seems a few people thinking the order the players come in matters but really it doesn't.
I’m suggesting that if there was one area of the pitch we had enough it was AML. Having said that I’m happy with him.
