That's why it starts with the following - (the key is in the "rumored (R)" bit)
We sell Maxi for £40m - rumoured (R) This is £40m positive in the FFP calculation. Recognised 100% on sale as Maxi isn't on finance. His fee is paid for, but we still pay him a wage.
We buy Barnes for £40m (R)
We amortise the sale of Barnes over 5 years = £8m per year for the FFP calc.
The post is designed to educate those that don't understand why selling Maxi is important to what can be done within FFP with the proceeds. It's not to be financially accurate, as there are too many unknowns.
Still stand by the fact that the Maxi fee will be greater than 25m Euro.

Posted the other day but there are 10 players who need moving on - even if you didn't get the £30m I suggested for them, even at £20m (£2m a pop) that still clears £100m in amortized transfer fee's but clears nearly 5 times the wage budget.
Maxi is a low earner comparatively to a lot of the squad and while we can get a reasonable fee for him, you'd be better clearing the wage budget giving away the deadwood in the squad.
