I think they'll get something serious and they'll be fine with it. They'll not be impacted for long now the brands built. It'll set up every challenger to face the same punishment before they get close enough.

On the other hand they might get away with it completely.

It makes you wonder what is going to happen to City if all of those breaches are proven. I mean, how much do you punish a club compared to benefits they've received. A few million isn't going to deter any of the big clubs. Even ten or twenty million is buttons compared winning the Premiership and champions league. If they set such a low bar then we can go out and spend what we want and they can't argue as they basically let city off.

Don’t sit on the fence

Newcastle were linked with a bid for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia over the weekend with an £82million bid reported by just one newspaper in Italy. That sparked chaos among headline writers around Europe but Newcastle have not confirmed anything on the Napoli star.

His agent, when approached by Chronicle Live yesterday, stayed silent too as did Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis

Everyone staying silent is very different to denying any discussions have taken place. If it were complete rubbish, then I'm sure at least one party would have said so.
