He has ,but got away with them. This one yesterday has been coming. Game management from Neil and the coaching staff, none existent the last twenty minutes or so.
They did have game management, QPR didn't create many chances, you expect them to throw everything at you as they had nothing to lose. They scored a great freekick, and the rare thing of a goalie scoring. Mistakes were made in lead upto goals that's not game management

Here’s some options which seem to fit the type of players we’re after and therefore could at least be being considered for incoming loan deals… taken from The Athletic who suggest the following will be looked to be loaned out to Championship clubs before the window closes. Seems there’ loads and likely to be lots of movement before the end of the month..

Manchester United’s James Garner and Keinan Davis at Villa - Both were at Forest last season and can’t return.

Wolves’ Morgan Gibbs-White was named player of the season at play-off semi-finalists Sheffield United last season.

Folarin Balogun 21 year old forward at Arsenal.

At Villa there’s

Centre forward, Cameron Archer

Aaron Ramsey, (brother of Jacob) Tim Iroegbunam, Kaine Kesler Hayden and centre back Kortney Hause who could all make loan exits.

20 year old Centre-back James Hill at Bournemouth.

19 year old full back Fin Stevens at Brentford and their forward Nathan Young-Coombes.

18 year old Charlie Webster at Chelsea, Centre Midfielder - but only one year left on his contract - likely to be extended before he’s allowed out on loan.

Everton’s left-back Niels Nkounkou, 21, who was loaned to Standard Liege last season and likely to be let out again.

At Fulham; midfielder Tyrese Francois, 22 and Adrion Pajaziti, 19 are ‘technical midfielders’. American wing-back Marlon Fossey, 23, caught the eye at Bolton on loan last season and will have second-tier interest this summer. 21 year old Brazilian forward Rodrigo Muniz could be an interesting one with apparently a lot of potential… Jay Stansfield, 19 could also be a consideration.

Lewis Bate centre midfielder at Leeds could also be allowed to leave.

Captain of England Under-18s Sammy Braybrooke, the playmaker is known aa “Leicester’s Modric” within the England camp.

Nicknamed “Philipp Lahm” by Jurgen Klopp, Leighton Clarkson is a young creative midfielder said to have “laser vision” and an excellent range of passes in his locker whilst likely to be loaned out.

19 year old midfielder James McAtee at Man City could be out of our reach as there seems to be loads after him.. but then we did look after Calum Doyle for them….

Former young player of the year midfielder Shola Shoretire at Man Utd could be an option, as could 19 year old central playmaker Hannibal Mejbri as previously mentioned in this thread.

Not sure Jay Turner-Cooke up the road would be an option, given previous, but he’s likely to be loaned out.

Attacking midfielder and 21-year-old Frenchman Ateef Konate at Forest could be let go as they seem to have hit overdrive on their recruitment…Swedish forward Julian Larsson, who is also 21 could be another. Dale Taylor at 18 and already a Northern Ireland international could also be loaned out to help his development.

At Spurs… Alfie Devine is a 17-year-old creative midfielder set to be loaned out.. Jamie Donley is a few months younger than Devine and is similarly highly rated within his age group. Harvey White is slightly older at 20, but is a set-piece specialist who already has a good stint at Portsmouth behind him and will surely make the next step up.

Then there is Kion Etete, a tall centre-forward who scored goals in League Two and League One last season and is primed to do it again.

Divin Mubama at West Ham is a striker and has been capped at England Under-18 level whilst defender Yerson Mosquera at Wolves is in need of regular games and will almost certainly be offered to clubs on loan while midfielder Luke Cundle is a slight possibility of also being loaned out for experience.

You know a lot more than me!!

Some good sounding lads there, so let's hope we do some business at that level.

They had excellent game management but like i said earlier the whole team were knackered. They had.. for 75 mins left nothing in the tank and you can't substitute the whole team. I just hope we've recovered enough for mid-week.Thats my concern.

Moneyball, the overwhelming sense of injustice a referee can inspire in a fanbase, and the five sub-rule, just might give rise to a new role in football...

Football's version of hockey's "enforcer." Recruits would come from other sports. As an example, the prototypical strong safety in major college football is 6'1", 225 lbs, runs the forty-yard dash in 4.5 secs, and arrives pre-wired for aggression and contact.

There should be an academy just for this purpose.

I’ve said all along Evans isn’t the issue in the middle, people need to remember what his role is in that midfield. He was getting unnecessary flack at times last season because other players were leaving him exposed.
He hasn’t played 40 games in years

his position is an issue. There is no cover for him given Neil obviously doesn’t fancy matete

Why did Alex Neil say it was almost done last Saturday then?

I’m not being a dick here like but why would he say that if he was never coming back?
He could not say owt else, the deal with Simms was set up 3 weeks ago, so not to **** Everton about, his wages were crazy mate, it had gone from us paying £9k p week to £15k p week, he's not worth it, according to Speakman, Simms by far the best option.

Afternoon Bob
I like Broadhead but I think Simms is a better player for us, so far anyway. They play different styles, but I really like the look of Simms so far, reminds me of a certain player who left us to go to France to play

Stating the obvious here, but yesterday showed that we are miles short of being competitive over a full season. Once our first XI have run their race, there is precious little in reserve. I thought O9 did very well as Ballard's replacement, but would have concerns playing him there long term. Roberts showed why he has been no nomadic in his short career by offering very little when we needed him to carry the ball and create chances. We desperately need backup for Neil and Evans, I don't think Winchester or Matete are the answers and as good as Simms & Stewart are, there is nothing else on the bench.

If our First XI were to play every week, with no illness, injury, fatigue or loss of form then I'd say we could challenge the edge of the play offs.
If we lose Pritchard, Simms, Evans or Stewart for long spells then we will be in a relegation scrap.

Someone told me on Friday that apparently Speakmann is to blame for a few deals falling through, This apparently came from a current player, but quite how a player would get involved or even know about why deals fell through is beyond me. Smacks of sour grapes from an agent, but could explain a lack of incoming action since the season started

Re. Speakman it could be the case that some deals have fallen through because he's taking a hard line with wages and other payments, seems to have been the case with Broadhead. If that's the case then it's no fun for us fans now but should reap rewards in the future.

Seems more likely to be that then some clash of personality, not sure how much time someone in his role spends with the players once they've signed.

Yeah, fair comment. Like I say, was sceptical when told but the lad I spoke to get the odd snippet

I can definitely believe it's true that it could get passed around, all it'd take is a throwaway line from a player we didn't sign leaving the AOL to one of our lads.

If it was the case it'd be from the perspective of a player we'd essentially rejected though. Always good to hear snippets, bugger all else going on atm.

He’s nothing like Maja in style, much more direct and robust. Potential to be much better imo.

I'm still relaxed as **** about transfers like

deals fall through for all sorts of reasons. if we'd signed that Gallacher lad from Liverpool we wouldn't have got Cirkin.

And likely if we'd got Broadhead early we wouldn't have got Simms.

I'm happy to let the recruitment team do what they need to do.

I have however gone from thinking we need 2 or 3 more and maybe 1 or 2 out, to thinking we need 4 or 5 more with 3 or 4 out.

Neil probably doesn’t fancy Matete, Neil or O’nein. None of them could fill Evans boots, he’s so underrated by our fans. Not many players play every game of the season, 40 is a big ask. He gets bookings in the position he plays and throws himself about, it’s nothing to do with his fitness it’s more down to suspensions and awful injuries ie a fractured skull.

I was relaxed, but getting less so as days go by.

As well as strikers and midfielders if Ballard's injury is serious.... may another CB.
