worra pile o' dog poo...

not one of those players can honestly say they tried hard to push for a start, many a time i have stated i like onien but on that showing he needs to head back to league one and take winnie with him, diamond tried first half saw little of him 2nd...if i did not know better i would think AN sent them out to enjoy a kick about and get some minutes in the legs but not give a feck about the result.

mind, take away that first goal and i dont think there was a lot in it surprisingly enough which makes that performance all the worse..nm, only a cup game, onto the weekend.

Granted he wasn’t helped by O’Nien (who was shocking btw) or Embleton, but on the ball he just doesn’t do enough.

Still young and relatively inexperienced though so I’m not writing him off just yet.

I'll put this here for people who couldn't find the match thread:

According to this O'Nien was our best player statistically. If you have evidence to the contrary hoy it up.

Matete has absolutely no awareness of what’s around him.

He’s got raw attributes but he’s miles away from being a Championship midfielder.
Aye buts he's clearly got the potential. His control in tight areas is superb. And the role he plays, break up play and knock a simple 5 yard pass is ideal

I think it Is when alot of people have the same opinion on o9 playing centre mid

The stats don't back it up though and I'm going back a couple of years. He consistently scores well especially on the defensive side of the game, go and look it up.

If I took the opinion of the people sat around me at the game as gospel than 99% of our players are utter ****e.

Data based analysis says that O'Nien was more effective that our other midfielders tonight
- but he still gets the most stick

No the majority of the players were woeful tonight , let's face it the data your providing for his performance tonight the bar wasn't exactly set hight was it .
Give me some more date next time he starts a championship game in cm

More than double the amount of tackles of any other Sunderland player tonight, would Evans or Neil have done better overall? I doubt it. Misplaces one pass and he's ****.
I never said he was ****e , I just thinks he's far more suited to right back

I wasn't so much referring to you but it's a popular opinion.

If he was going to be in the first team I'd play him as a deep lying DM protecting the defence. He spreads it about ok and reads the game well and he gets his foot in.

We wouldn’t have it any other way :emoticon-0102-bigsm
This is one of the few threads Gordon hasn't banned me from.

Spot on what you've said but I'm going to just stick to the premier league board, at least for a bit.

Nowt worse than seeing a grown man asking for posters to be banned as well <laugh>
