Disagree with the last sentence. It was a team effort that got us promoted, and speakman played a huge part in that. He brought in quality players plus he brought in Neil. We were all annoyed with how long it took but the main thing the club had to do was get the appointment right which they did. Id rather the club took their time and get it right than to rush it and get it wrong.

I also love that speakman seems to have a pathway for our promising youngsters, chrissy rigg is 15 and playing u23 already and has trained with the 1st team - stuff like that will go a long way in keeping our best youngsters.

I know its not transfer related but felt that speakman does get a bit of unnecessary stick so wanted to share my views on it
Speakman acted 6 weeks too late, the vast majority of supporters could see this, when he should have taken steps before Christmas regarding Johnsons position. His rolling list of candidates to replace the head coach appeared to have broken down or been lost after the Bolton game which delayed the appointment of AN on a Friday night at 9pm..jeeez...
It was AN realisation and quick action in identifying those areas (most supporters could see urgent action was needed weeks beforehand) that required addressing as a priority, which btw for us worked. If it had not been for Bolton, Speakman I suspect would have left LJ in charge..

He’s got a lot of quality but is he reliable? Is he even fit now? Hasn’t kicked a ball in a game all pre-season.
Well, he's not injured but he won't be match fit. If a deal can be done, I'd definitely be looking to bring him in

the only reason a club would loan two players to the same club (and i admit it is highly unlikely) would be to see if they could forge a partnership and that is why it is highly unlikely, as they would both have to be guaranteed game time together.

all this new contract and wanting another loan deal for broadhead is starting to look as if the club are hoping he can prove himself and get a decent move for good money, maybe they now thing it is time to stop spending and start trying to recoup some of their cash or at least drastically cut costs/attempt to get more cash incoming....there again, it is all just 'talk and hearsay' right now.

Simms will have been loaned to us with the expectation of regular game time
Broadhead will be loaned to us with the expectation we pay most of his wages.
I think there is a huge difference in how Everton see these 2 players

Wilson knows the square root of **** all.

However, if Wigan are interested it just shows so small minded and limited their scouts are.
Lazy ****ing journalism if you ask me, everyone that we have been linked with so far are being linked with the other 2 promoted teams I'm sure they will just do the same with the 3 relegated from the Premier league if one is interested in a player they will link them to the other two.
Or any team at a certain level.
When we were in the Premier league all the bottom 10 teams were linked with the same player, its like they know the level of a player so they link them with clubs of that level then they can claim they predicted it.
Christ I made hard work of putting my point across there

They may want to free up wages for others

Ancient history , the club, the team , the club have all moved on , time for the fans to move on . We are in a much better place since KLD and Speakmans arrival , yes we have had mistakes but they have been minimal and trivial in comparison to previous years and ownerships.

Tuchel has confirmed Alonso has asked to leave Chelsea. Hopefully it's because he's missing Sunderland and the lovely walks along the Wear <cool>

true, another possible but i was presuming the loaning of players is to get game time and experience...would honestly not expect a 'junior' player to be on huge wages, i would guess if that was the case then they would be better off selling/getting rid.

The issue is that if they are on premier league pro wages they sometimes have to loans them to top up the other club’s available outlay (we should know about that !) so a loan with fee is what happens
