And if Broadhead ends up doing nothing all season I hope seeing his old teammate banging them in for us wearing the number 9 shirt that should have been his, becomes a lesson for young 20-somethings at premier league clubs everywhere

You have given up on him coming, I think he will be the next one through the door.

The wages thing probably miggh not even be from our side, like most modern day footballers and their agents if he is going to take a paycut tk come here he is probably seeing if he can get anything out of Everton first to pay out his contract.

Equally though if he has been too motivated by money we could have ****ed him off.

P.s I know nowt!

Got to assume this means no Broadhead. He was number 9 last season. I always read way too much into squad numbers me

It doesn’t mean anything at all.

Broadhead might not necessarily have wanted that number anyway, it depends what’s available when people sign.

I dont think I have seen much of Simms, but his record looks decent. Plenty on here excited, so good enough for me. I like the look of his profile - size, pace, two footed. Sounds a good un.

I still want Broadhead back. He is a talent IMO. Brilliant on the deck, quick, good in the air, natural finisher. Someone will get a good lad to work with, just hope it is us. We have a new head of medicine too, hopefully we will be stronger on injury prevention.

I don't see us walkong away from Broadhead signing unless he indicates he is not interested for whatever reason (including only wanting coming if we offer wages outside our budget).

I think if we got him we could have 3 strikers hitting double figures, I can't see there being a reliance on ant one of them and Broadhead is a different option to the other two I think (don't know much about Simms but he sounds similar to Stewart)

Delighted that we've managed to get Simms and it eases the pressure on any remaining signings. We can just about get by on what we have now. I'd want a 3rd striker at a minimum, but worst case scenario, we have flexibility in Dejaku and Clarke which means we don't need to be held to ransom over Broadhead or anyone else.

After a striker, anything else is a bonus for me now.

Danny Cowley on Jack Diamond...

"Jack's a player we know well, he ruined our FA Cup involvement last year... he's obviously a Sunderland boy who's come through the academy there, he's a good player but no we have clarity on what we'd like to bring in" [HASHTAG]#Pompey[/HASHTAG]

Pompey are desperate to be our last seasons B team <laugh>.

I expect that they want him permanently but it's a great move for him. If it is a loan, then it's good level for him to be tested at.
