The more I think about it,I think Parrot would be the attacking option. It's been said on here that we have a relatively good relationship with Spurs...they would trust us with him. He's in the far east atm, which could slow things down a bit.

This. By securing Wright,Gooch and Roberts, then adding Clarke,we've cemented the platform. Adding Ballard and 3 or 4 more will take us on.
Patience.
Our recruitment is the best it's been in at least 10 years. Even when we get it slightly wrong...eg Hoffman,Alves....we can get out of it quickly. We've cleared the dead wood....Grigg gone,McGeady gone.....the unfortunate Burge,Willis and Arby.....we're doing ok imo. This squad looks lean, young, fit and, subject to some additional quality, ready to go.

100%!!

let's face it, grigg was a waste at that money and can not really call him 'our player' for the amount of games he actually played in, geads hardly touched a ball in anger last season along with arby, then willis between the four of them they would be lucky to rack up a dozen games i reckon, feel quite sorry for the hoff as he looked decent until he got the 'short sharp shock' of those big losses, seemed a bit shell shocked and lacked confidence after that but he came here as much for a learning experience as anything else so hopefully will stand him in good stead for his future, burge just never felt like our keeper for some reason to me, probably still soured by the memory of camp.

there will be some that for some reason do not work out but currently, the recruitment squad/leadership are doing a good job, held onto and added to the squad we had last season (by that i mean the new contracts and ballard) and i am a firm believer in continuity in a squad, especially a younger set of lads such as we have now, mixed with some good solid experience.

If Boro are also after Parrot may help that their selling Spence to them?
