i've gone from not concerned at all.....to.... yes...it could happen. Nightmare if it does happen tho'

yeh and me. Turned 180 on this since last night. if you take away how ridiculous it would be to leave us and go to stoke, and look purely at the circumstantial stuff thats happened today, you can understand why people are lumping money on him and the odds are dropping like crazy

He tweets about us quite a lot but I've never worked out whether he knows anything or not. "Director of Content" for a Middle East based company. Not convinced by him.

he's the weirdest blue tick ive come across - as he never tweets about work. just his interests. he cant have that big a profile in Dubai that anybody is doubting he's who he says he is. blue ticks are usually to protect information.

I’m not going to lie, I’m usually calm about speculation like this but the momentum is building and the rumours are circulating.

Its the delayed press conference thats done it for me.

I know there are signings to discuss, but there always is. And its not like they delayed it from 9am until 2pm last night or early this morning, they had journalists sitting there for 45 mins then asked them to come back later.

no spin in the world is going to make me comfortable with that.

True. Maybe he gets it on the basis of the company he works for? They seem to be a bit of a big noise in Dubai. Healthcare and comestics, which I suppose must be a big thing there. Don't see how that gives him any insight into Alex Neil's position though.

I’m sure he was a journalist at one point but he has tweeted stuff in the past which has turned out to be bollocks

Stoke would be a strange move for Alex Neil but I really can’t see it happening.

It would be the most Sunderland thing ever like.

Sunderland echo reckon it’s due to early trading with an early kick off tomorrow

Odds mean nothing. If you have a lot of money in the market for an outcome the odds drop. It means nothing. It could just be a lot of people having a hopeful punt.

Let’s be honest here, he was no one’s first choice, he’s done a good job and would be leaving us in a far better position than he found us, achieved his objectives and good luck to him if he decides he’s got better opportunities at stoke. We would move on, and let’s hope not take an age to get his replacement, but being frank it’s not the end of the world if he went.

Some interesting stats so far this season, O'Nien is eleventh in the squad for fouls per game and out of our players who've played more than a handful of minutes he's got our highest passing accuracy. Doubt many would have predicted that.

Dan Neil is third in tackles per game while maintaining his high quality passing so fair play to him that's what I was hoping he'd add to his game. Clarke is second in tackles so well done to him too, Evans first.
That is really interesting mate. It is useful to see stats that back up performance levels. ONien passing is usually simple and just about moving the ball. He isnt one that is looking for the incisive pass like a Pritchard or a Neil. I think, personally, he has a place here this season.

Dan Neil tackling stats are good to see. I know a few people dont rate him, but I have certainly seen a bigger effort in his pressing and tackling this season and pre season. His passing has always been top class, and his movement is fantastic. I really do think he will become a top class premier league level midfielder, despite some obvious inexperience at this moment.
