Give ower, the Man Utd youth prospect was signed for more than our club was worth last year, I think he might be worth giving a chance :emoticon-0102-bigsm
He is just as likely to be a free transfer in 2 years time, as having made it at man u. Nature of the premier league these days, throw money around like smarties.

Just read an article in The Echo that alludes to we are struggling to offer more money than other clubs to secure players. " That comes at a premium, and thats why it is difficult. Not only that, we are in competition with other clubs at the same level that are arguably going to spend more money on those types of positions than we will "
I thought we would struggle to compete with the clubs with parachute money on financial packages to attract players but this is a little concerning.

Only clubs spending big are clubs who have sold players for big money or are receiving parachute payments. No reason at all the be concerned

I have used the wrong word saying concerned, I actually believe we have enough already to finish mid table, I just think a couple of quality players would give us a chance of pushing for the play offs. You have to pay the going rate for quality though.

It seems KLD was deadly serious when he talked about the club paying for itself. I don't even think he'd spend much if we were to go up.

We need to spend a little more this window because our squad lacks the depth in quality that a lot of teams already have in this league.

Let them have it, I'm just looking at this season and next as us building for a crack at going up. We'll be in the same position as these Watford's and Stokes in a couple year.

This. We need to build slowly but surely and establish some long awaited stability. Despite a very decent, encouraging start, I don't believe we can compete at the very top end of this table at the moment and this season I'll be happy with our brand of attacking football, continuing development and improvement of our young squad, and a finish 10th,9th,8th or thereabouts. I'm expecting a difficult match tonight and another on Saturday, and it wouldn't surprise me if we came away with nothing from these two games. As long as the performance level is there and we give a good account of ourselves,it won't be a disaster. Oh....and we don't want any more injuries!

I'll leave it until the transfer window shuts. I'm assuming we are going to bring in 2-3, at least. With this squad as it stands, I'd have us finishing 12th - 15th. At some point we'll have injuries and suspensions and we aren't well equipped to deal with that.

Performance is key. I'm okay with bad results if you can see his style of play being stamped down. Better players over a few windows will improve that.
