I've had the pleasure of a 24hr tummy bug many times, as most people have but for them to specifically name it as gastroenteritis (which I've never had) would suggest it's a bit worse than a normal bug. Hopefully they have overstated it and everyone is fine for the weekend.

It's not a pleasent bug, I had it before and was wiped off my feet for over a week, couldn't stomach much either, even when feeling well. Again, I am just a (somewhat) normal bloke, and not a professional, so...er I have no idea.
