there needs to be a balance tho. The longer we stay down here the harder it will be to get out, sustainable or otherwise

That's all well and good but this season, more than any other, we need to hit the ground running. Not wait around to bring 3 or 4 in at the end of the window.

Fair points. There are people paid good money to make that call mate. They need to sort it. I am surpsied at the tone from Johnson tonight, very.

Aye, feels like he’s broken rank a little bit.

The line about not expecting a settled defence until after the season starts and having sleepless nights is a world away from the “be patient” narrative

He sounds sick Johnson like, seems a disagreement on Wright as-well, squad isn't great at the moment, looking at the bench today it was practically all under 23s squad

TBH if I was in his shoes, I would probably be the same. I'm paying millions for a Cat 1 academy and am being told that there's a handful of players that teams higher up in the league are looking at so why aren't they in the first team squad at least? Maybe they aren't totally ready but they'll be learning on the job so to speak. Yes use them but we need quality signings for this league (and maybe the next one up) to bring them through games.
 
Whether anybody likes it or not, this is only going to fuel the view many have had that “nothing has changed” from Madrox. Clearly it has, off the pitch.

But LJ basically hinted in that interview that he’s unhappy with how slow we are being and essentially reluctant to spend. Will be surprised if that doesn’t cause some aggro back at ranch.

Then he and whoever is advising him is wrong. We need to get out of this League ASAP, partly to keep the support,and not lose a generation, and also in case there is a breakaway of the top 2 divisions.

Pritchard apparently still displaying Covid symptoms and now being sent for a heart scan. Won’t be able to train until august.

Will be training anyway. Club just have to adhere to specific guidelines on post covid positives. But he will be monitored and training, make no mistake about that just won't be full leather.

Heart trace is standard practice too.

Shame like but it is what it is.

Sorry to see this quote. I thought we were beyond such penny pinching and were looking at getting value for our money and not hoping for bargains

You can buy and still be sustainable. As for getting what we need - well it depends on who is calling the shots on what we need and, just as importantly, when!

Good enough but on time is generally more acceptable than world class but too late.

The more he keeps banging on about sustainability the more it is obvious that KLD isn't primarily worried about us not getting promotion this season, or possibly not even next season.

That's his prerogative, he can be super businessman in his sheltered world - but it is our club too and we are the ones that get the snide comments and piss taking from the neighbours.
 
Something that may have got missed is LJ said he wants another CB AND hinted that he wants to keep Wright. So could be 2 cbs. But I guess more likely to be one in one out
