3. Tolaji Bola
Having spent last season on loan at Rochdale, the Arsenal left-back knows League One well. Sunderland need full-backs this summer and Bola may fit the bill - although Sheffield Wednesday are also understood to be keen.

from the echo looks canny

the problem is, the Echo has had so many 'click - bait' headlines such as 'xx amount of strikers sunderland could sign' ... 'these players might help sunderland' etc etc i dont think they have printed anything of fact during the window unless it is 2 days late and been all over social media, web sites and the safc, com page, for a paper that always seemed at the heart of all things sunderland and first with the football news it is a sad shadow of its former self.

Would love a signing out of the blue today.

Is it just me or do we even seem to be being linked with less players than normal? Could be because journo's have been focused on the Euros. Or could be that we are keeping things tight.
Or they realised were not going to spend so are linking other clubs instead. The next month is critical for our future. I hope we're positively surprised and soon. Those online critised for "panicking" aren't wrong they're just articulating it incorrectly and coming off as screaming fannies but if we don't strengthen enough soon were in for a long season.

It's a good job the club realises this mate

living abroad in Europe for 20 years i always took the Echo as truthful, times must have changed a lot since then, as in my time it was a paper of truth

as with most of the regionals, it seems they went 'central' and since going mainly online have resorted to click bait to try to entice readers, the Echo offers 5 free stories and then asks you to subscribe, the downside is that those 'free' stories usually turn out to be two or three paragraphs with very little info in them.

They will be a threat this year. Not sure we would have been in for as I suspect him and Stewart are similar. We will be after a different type I reckom. The Owen Dale link is not a surprise.
Whilst I agree they will be right up there, you'd have thought they're done with strikers now and they've got Piggot, Bonne and Norwood. I think I'd be slightly underwhelmed with those options if I were an Ipswich fan considering what they're throwing at promotion this season. I think it depends who they get in around them and they have been strongly linked with some outstanding players (Crooks, Celina etc)

Nope. Loads have assumed we were. And some on twitter acting like this is evidence that we aren't attracting anyone <doh>
Aye, I thought that may be the case.

I do think that Ipswich are probably willing to chuck more wages (and longer contracts) at that profile of player than we will be this window if we were in for him though. I personally don't have a problem with that, spend the right money on the right players.
