If McGeady and O'Nien are signing and want to be fit for the start of the season, they should be reporting for training today then heading upstairs for their SAFC.com photos of them signing their contracts straight after
Aburjania? I used to smoke that back in the day at University.
On the contracts offered reading between the lines I think Hume is looking unlikely, Wyke is gone already just deciding where and the other two are just about sorted in new deals.
Would be interesting to know how much effort they out into keep Wyke and Hume? @Prehab26 did say they put an excellent offer together for O'Nien that was better than he was offered Championship clubs so clearly wanted him. I reckon Wyke will have been there is a contract there if you want it, thanks for last season if you don't! Not sure on Hume and I reckon mcgeady is happy and settled here so would have been the easiest to get over the line.

Hume is an odd one. He's had 3 seasons with us and in 2 of them he's had long term injuries, together with a few niggles, suggesting he may well be a bit injury prone. He's also nowhere near the finished article and wouldn't be 1st choice for us if we had kept Oviedo or James (IMHO).
If he's turning down a new contract at his hometown club, you have to assume he's going somewhere a) bigger or b) in a higher league.
Not sure what Championship teams are likely to gamble on him. You'd assume he'd be better served developing here as 1st choice than warming the bench in the Championship
Probably hasn't had enough time on the pitch due to injuries to show he clips worth putting a package together to compete with playing in higher leagues. I think we will want to keep him but will only be willing to go so far wage wise. Luke O'Nien on the other hand would have been want to keep him and willing to go to championship size wage package and decent signing fee etc as he must be right up there with everything the data is looking at.

As per the reports, it’s claimed that the Georgia international is on the verge of a move to the Stadium Of Light as Lee Johnson looks to strengthen his side.
Midfield options are somewhat limited at present with Max Power and Grant Leadbitter moving on, while uncertainty is still building around the future of players such as Luke O’Nien and George Dobson.
However, a move for Aburjania could be a tricky one to pull off, according to Chronicle Live’s Matty Hewitt.
The Sunderland reporter believes that the midfielder could struggle to secure a work permit due to Georgia place at 88th in the world rankings, describing his chances of earning one as ‘very tough’.
This is a move that seems like a bit of a long shot.
While Giorgi Aburjania is clearly a decent player there have to be question marks about the move due to his lack of experience playing in England.
That’s not to say that he won’t be able to come in and hit the ground running, but if Lee Johnson is looking for players who can kick on in League One, this feels like something of a punt.
That said, he is available on a free transfer so if a work permit could be secured it could end up being a shrewd addition.

Sunderland have agreed a contract with Georgian international Giorgi Aburjania, as per Spanish news outlet Sport Cartagena.
