Wykes been saying Max Power was one of the reasons he joined Wigan because they are best mates and Powers been messaging him asking him to join him...

I really dont envy Wigan at all signing these 2, however i am feeling envious that they seem to have a plan and alot of ambition to get promoted, which is something we appear to be lacking in.
Who'd have thought after all of them positive words from our new owner and backroom team back in March that we'd still be in league 1 in July with only a Man Utd youngster signed ready for the new season which starts in less than a month. We really need to start showing our ambition and intentions for next season, because the fans already have going from our season ticket sales. Its about time Dreyfus showed us something now and put his money where his mouth is. Peterborough took a gamble last season and spent big and it paid off, im sick of reading about us being linked with freebies and unknown Scottish players rated at a couple of 100k.

Youd have thought we'd have been desperate to start re-building and creating a new era as soon as the season finished by getting our buisness done early and letting players come in and settle with their families. The last thing we want is to see us start panic buying in August after weve dropped what could end up being vital points against Wigan etc. Going from Saturdays friendly we have alot of work to do.

Ideally you'd want your business done early but this has not been possible this season. I've got complete faith in the new owner getting it right here. Might take time but we'll get there.

I am not yet concerned about incomings personally. It would be lovely to have everyone in first day of pre season but it never happens like that. I reckon we are fishing in a higher quality pool than most league 1 sides and that takes longer. Every time there is a major tournament the transfer window doesnt start until after that in reality, and Johnson has already said is a challenge. That to me says we are going after a better calibre of players. Personally I am ok waiting if we get the players we want and for the first time in ages we have people doing this who know how to get the job done. In other words if we are in for someone from watford for example they will know we can get him once watford have got someone in but that needs the euros to be done before those dominoes start to fall.

It seems we have got a free agent coming in Pritchard who we have beaten championship teams to. I would bet every other league 1 club would take him. Compare that to Lincoln signing Maguire and I dont think there is a comparison at all. We are going for players other League 1 clubs dream about and it just takes time.
