Not worried about the South American club - why would he go back when his ambition was and is to play PL football? But he's clearly attracting a lot of interest.
One of the teams is Benfica. But yes, he should definitely fall into the "we won't sell him" category.
As always our stance can be whatever we like but if the player really wants out they will leave If PL/Champs League teams are interested in any of our players then I can’t see them being too keen on staying, how far they go to force the move is what really determines the outcome
We’ll just have to wait and see. What media trained players are instructed to say in interviews doesn’t always correlate with their actions. Then you get the stupid ones like “give me a contract and I’d stay forever” Lallana
Yeah if he stays another season, and kills it in the Championship, then those offers from other clubs will only get bigger and better.
If Mara is unhappy in the country/area then fair enough if he wants to leave. If it's for playing time, you'd think he'd get a lot more in the Championship. Particularly as we will have a smaller squad and some of those ahead of him up front could well leave.
Think we should be looking for more tbh, particularly if Chelsea are in for him. They have more money then sense and it's only £10m more than his release from Man City.
£50m for Lavia £35m for JWP £12m? for Bednarek £15m for Tella (we should try and keep him though) £25m for ABK Could be £120m+ into the coffers and build the team and formation next year around Alcaraz and Sulemana. Would need heavy investment into central midfield (Grimes would make sense) and then for us to keep the likes of Salisu and DCC or re-inviest there, too, if they're to leave.
