It is only a matter of time before a top club names a female manager.

In an era of social equality, there is nothing to stop one of the top coaches from the women’s game getting a big club job in the men’s game.

All that matters is that she can hold a dressing room, she has the stature and respect of the players for them to look up and want to listen to what she has to say to them.

The barriers and boundaries are there to be broken, for this sport to be daring, and to show that there are no limits for ambitious female coaches.

Forget the gimmicks, or the cheap publicity, this is about giving it to the best person for the job.

Emma Hayes has been linked with the top job at Chelsea, replacing Maurizio Sarri. And why not?

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN are pushing to land N’Golo Kante, according to reports.

The French giants are looking to revamp their midfield options for another tilt at the Champions League next season.

And the Chelsea midfielder is top of their summer shopping list after cooling their interest in Everton’s Idrissa Gueye.

Man City 'to offer Gabriel Jesus to Atletico Madrid'

Manchester City could offer Gabriel Jesus to Atletico Madrid in an attempt to sign midfielder Rodri from the Spanish club, according to reports.

United 'open talks' on incredible £105m deal

Manchester United are reportedly ready to meet Joao Felix’s huge £105m release clause in a bid to land the wonderkid.

The Benfica starlet is wanted by almost all of Europe’s top clubs but has a huge fee set into his contract which Record say United are willing to pay to gain the upper hand in the race for his signature.

Real Madrid are amongst those said to be keen on signing Felix, who has burst onto the scene with 20 goals and 11 assists this season.

He bagged a stunning hat-trick for the Portuguese side in the Europa League semi-finals and helped them lift the league title at the weekend.

Bournemouth eye Leeds’ Phillips

Bournemouth are eying another raid on the Championship for Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

The Cherries have already signed defender Lloyd Kelly from Bristol City for £13m and are keen to add Phillips, 23, to their rostrum of rising British talent.

Academy product Phillips has scored 10 goals in 128 league games for his hometown club.

Max Kruse linked to Liverpool

Max Kruse will leave Werder Bremen this summer it has been announced.

And Liverpool are being linked with a move for the 31-year-old striker.

Germany’s Sport1 say the former German international is looking for a ‘major contract’.

And the Reds have been linked.

Spurs lead race for Maxi Gomez

Tottenham are leading the race to sign Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez – with West Ham and Liverpool all but out of the running.

Spurs want the Uruguay star as back-up to Harry Kane and held talks with one of his representatives in London recently.

They are prepared to swoop for Gomez, who has a £43m release clause, with West Ham admitting defeat and Liverpool cooling their interest.

The Hammers came close to signing the 22-year-old in January when it looked like Marko Arnautovic would leave for China.

I'll put my head on the block with this one. Maguire is in no way worth 70 million quid. That's Van Dijk money and they're worlds apart. Maguire is too slow on the turn. I think if he goes to a top top side, he'll flop and look out of place.

Think you are doing Harry a bit of a disservice here Saffy .... and I've already said that I wouldn't be too disappointed if we lost him, so I'm not being overly tribalistic on this one ...

Tony Adams, John Terry and even Nemanja Vidic could all be turned on their day ... Maguire is actually quicker than all of them and Pep w would bring him on leaps and bounds ... him and Johnny Evans had formed a very effective partnership by the end of the season and we were looking good for a shut out against City before Kompany's worldly...

Maguire is very good on the ball and I'd say he has the best distribution of any English centre back currently ...

DoD you notice him dribble past 3 City players and outpace their midfield leading up to Iheanacho's howling miss btw?

She'd be safe in the dressing room, now that John "the roaster" Terry is no longer there.

Imagine if United did spend that kind of money, and the kid ended up being a flop!

Little Ollie could bankrupt the club.

I'm not exactly saying he's ****e. I just think he's too slow and not good enough on the ball to play for a 'top, top side'

The football was different when them defenders that you named were playing and also not one of them would have survived in a Guardiola team. He's going to go for the same sort of money as Van Dijk and he's not even in the same league as him, that's why I think you should be pushing him out the door for 70 million plus.

He's not that slow though ... hence my point about outpacing Man City's midfield ... did you see it?

He is also virtually impossible to mark at set pieces ... as Southgate exploited at the world cup

Looks like the kid from Swansea to United is a done deal. £12-15m is low risk, rumours that we are loaning him to Brighton for the season.
