I keep on seeing "Morgan will have a great year as he'll have more time.....". Why do we think he'll have more time in the PL?

He won't, it's just one of those sentiments churned out by people who don't know what they're talking about. It's only true in the sense that defenders get closer without throwing themselves into a tackle. Whilst he may get slightly more time on the ball, he'll be closed down very quickly and he won't get more time to pick a pass.

Generally the EPL and even more so international football, the emphasis is on keeping shape, as a result players don't jump in as much. He probably will have a bit more time on the ball but only because the Championship is so physical.

In the PL dew times press highly so Morgan will be able to pock the ball up off the defence, sit in the centre circle and pull the strings. We saw glimpses of it already palace and man united home.

Man U reserves were crap. He wouldn't get that sort of time against their first team.

Oh man, we deserved to win that game. Dan Harding decided he was going to be Philip Lahm for a day. Morgan, Chaplow and Oxo were all incredible. Fergie has to wheel out his biggest guns.

True, its a myth. Generally, players have better control in the PL so they are able to give themselves a bit more space. Also, defenders are a bit more reluctant to dive in as they are wary of being made to look stupid. But to get this 'respect' you have to show the ability, so we will see if we have it.

Also, whilst at times you will see some slow pace passing (as we did last year) at the back, in the important areas of the pitch the pace really picks up. So overall, the pace at which the game is played is faster than we are used to and we will have considerably less time on the ball.

Radhi's going on about something. Went to the airport yesterday for "a mission" which he says today was successful. Could be transfer related.

If you mean Aymen Abdennour, we weren't ever linked with him, it was just someone saw a picture of Jay Rod with his Dad and Akinbiyi and thought his dad was Abdennour. That's it.

That was the chap! And now you point it out, I remember the Jay Rod's dad / Tunisisan Defender confusion too. Ah well, not him then.

Ha, surely whoever came up with that one was on a wind up.

That said it's not impossible... good player, right position, young, valued in our price range (around £5m)... but no it was just a misunderstanding (or as Qwerty says a possible windup) that got taken too far :D

watching PL and Championship football on TV it has struck me that there does seem alot more space available to players in the PL. But the attackers are given less space so passes of over 30 yards normally get cut out. The way we play with short, fast passing and with attackers looking for space and pulling defenders out of position is the only way to play in the PL. Also last year Rickie normally was watched by 2 defenders, leaving space for others which will not happen in the PL

It won't be Adbennour, Toulouse turned down a 12m bid from Spartak Moscow two days ago. Can't see us spending that much on a player. But then again I don't know Cortese budget.
