Vidic, Agger, Kompany, Skrtel were all bought for £6m. I really think we should look abroad for this one.

Since we've been looking in the direction of the Eredivisie, I'd be curious what Stefan de Vrij might cost. Seems to want to stay in the Netherlands for the time being, but that's only because he hasn't yet seen the DVD.

That's the answer circulate the DVD and they will all be falling over themselves!

£3.5m isn't a bad price for Dann and the most important aspect of signing any player is they improve the squad. I certainly don't think that Dann is any worse than Jos or Jose but is an upgrade on anyone else we have in the squad. Certainly wouldn't want to pay £6m for him but not a useless signing. Massive overreaction guys

Agree with this. He'd be an asset.

Can't blame relegation on one player and at 25 he still has plenty of time to still improve. as Camb said earlier he's certainly no worse than what we already have at CB.

Exactly Fran, when has it ever been one player that gets a team relegated. He has Prem experience and he would be joining a team full of confidence which will most likely help him settle and develop into a better player.

Though he was relegated with Birmingham, he personally played very well that year, Birmingham simply didn't score any goals. Their defence was fine. Last year the Blackburn squad and Steve Kean was the problem - it sounds like they had massive disharmony, I don't think any of their team played to anything like their potential. I don't think you can blame it all on Dann.

I'm not aruging there might not be better out there, but just pointing out Dann isn't as bad as some of you are making out.

NA is all about the TEAM, be builds teams and wants players who fit into the team - maybe Dann is a good fit in the team in NA's eyes?

Interesting fact on Echo site (yes, really). If Dickson, Barnard and Forte are left out (because they didn't go on preseason tour) and leaving out u21 players (which include both Clyne and Gazza), we have 21 players expected to be on Nigel's 25 man list so he has room for 4 signings without dropping anyone else. Saved us doing the sums.

Why are people saying we don't want Dann because he's been relegated twice?

That means jack all, he didn't get them relegated on his own did he? The team was poor, not one player
