He has technical ability but not nearly refined enough to (yet) be competent in the Premier League, otherwise he'd have played more for Chelsea. His general style of play revolves a lot around physical strength. What we've seen so far from him for Chelsea is that he's not mentally a Premier League footballer, he lacks tactical incisiveness and ends up bumbling about a lot. I don't want to use the cliche "football brain" because obviously he understands the game, hence his success for Anderlecht, but in terms of reading Premier League defences he has a lot to learn. I'm not calling him ****, I'm not saying he was a waste of money, but as Southampton would never sign him permanently, the only option is a loan and I don't want him right now.

Lukaku, in my opinion, hasn´t been given enough playing time this season for people to say he isn´t ready for the premier league. Of course he has a lot to learn, he´s only 19 but he will only get better if he plays. If he was given a proper chance I´m sure he would show people he can play against premier league defences and score goals but given such little time to show what you can do it must be hard to prove yourself.
...btw I was replying to a comment someone made about him being a poor man´s Drogba, I didn´t say we should bring him in on loan. We have enough strikers as it is. If we were in need of a striker then I would love us to have him on loan, even if we couldn´t sign him permanently.
Anyway, I´m sure he will be loaned out this season, will get more playing time and prove many doubters wrong.

Lets face it, Chelsea isn't the best place for a youngsters to establish themselves. They don't seem to have the patience and prefer to buy the finished article it would seem, or cos its what Abramovitch wants. This is possibly a similar situation to Chelsea's Sturridge. When loaned out to Bolton, he looked a very good striker if I remember rightly. Maybe this Lukaku guy will get that chance. Probably not with us though, we're good on that front.

Basing how good a player is by a YouTube video. Hmm now were have I seen this fail before?
I watch alot of live football (not just on the tv either), to say Lukaku played class for Anderlecht so he must be class for Chelsea is wrong. Some players do not make the step up, no matter how good they look.

<doh> I´m not basing him on a youtube video. I watched many, many matches on T.V when he was at Anderlecht. I put up the youtube video up to back up what I was saying. I also based him on stats, which I used to compare him to Drogba.
You said he was a poor man´s Drogba which is a stupid thing to say as he is only 19, not being given time to prove himself in the premier league and has much, much better numbers than Drogba had when he was Lukaku´s age. I can assure you that Drogba would not have been any decent if he had played for Chelsea at 19, considering the fact he only became noticed by Chelsea when he was 25.

Lukaku is certainy ready for the PL. He just hasn't had much of of look in. Hopefully he goes out on loan soon and doesn't become another promising talent stifled by not playing football. We're fine for strikers, but playing for a mid-table side and playing well would be the confidence boosr he needs.

That smiley is ****ing annoying. We wait and see how he gets on, atm he looks a poor version of Drogba. Also as I said stats mean nothing when the player comes from a much poorer league.

I never said he couldn't become good, just the way he is now. Looks clumsy and slow and unable to hold the ball up.

Anyways enough of him we have Clyne well sort of. <ok>

if this is true then i'd guess that we intend him to play as a winger or in the hole in a 4 2 3 1

Know very little about the dutch league, all I know about this guy is his name. Let's get Cove over and ask him again
