Doubt Fourth Official all you like, but one thing you can't deny is that, judging by Twitter correspondence, he's in very regular contact with Zaha. Tonight, FO said there has, as of right now, been no interest from Southampton towards Zaha.

So the Echo have stuck to what they're good at and said that Saints will offer £8m for Clyne and Zaha <whistlw>

Defoe is a talented player, but is very disruptive I suspect if you read into some of the stories about him. NA is all about teamwork and team morale and harmony - i think a key criteria of any NA signing is how well they will integrate into the squad, regardless of their ability

Fourth Official knows nothing, just tweets the more realistic 'gossip' from the papers. I've questioned him a number of times on his stories and just get rude, nothing comments in response. His latest tweet about Buttner signing for Southampton? jeez I could have told you that much. For every story he has guessed correctly, he has guessed twice as many wrong. Where are you getting this "75% of things right" from?

75% of the time he's right, every time!

I would agree <ok>

While people shouldn't take everything he says as gospel, he is definitely in the loop when it comes to some moves. Some of his tweets are indisputable, such as tweeting a picture of Carroll having his Liverpool medical before the signing was even close to being reported elsewhere and often he announces deals before most media sources do.

Everything he says may not come off, but it's very hard to claim that he knows 'nothing' at all, I mean if a move he mentions doesn't happen, there could be a million reasons why, not limited to just 'he's talking ****e'.

Alan Nixon tweets us and Reading are interested in Geoffrey Kondogbia of RC Lens, 19yr-old CM/CB. Highly rated by his nation, **** knows if there's anything to it.

I've found Fourth Official to be reliable. He reported that we'd made that double bid for Fox and J-Rod and then that they wouldn't sell J Rod, developments since suggests that he was bang on there! I imagine a lot of deals that look on actually don't go through due to last minute changes either in terms of contract or the player changing his mind. Seems to be on the ball if you ask me!

With regards to rumours, I think Clyne could be a decent shout but I'd much rather have Trippier!

Through a tribunal, you don't make an offer to the club for him.

That is correct, however Palace are trying to agree a fee with the interested club to avoid a tribunal decision.

Wasn't really doubting him, was more laughing at how Platini has a go at English clubs for speeding big. Yet when a french club does theres silence.

Fair enough, but how high a fee can that be? I don't know how much the estimated tribunal fee would be.

It all depends on whether a deal can be reached which Palace think will be more than they will get from a tribunal and which we think is less... or, we can offer them more than they would have got in exchange for a fair hearing on Zaha.

To pick you up on your earlier point, Fourth Official didn't say no interest, he answered the question "Zaha to Saints?" with "No (not yet anyway)" (paraphrasing) which implies there might be interest.

Anyone who reads/is subscribed to Four Four Two theres a good article on transfers in this months issue. Shows what Players, agents, chairmen and journalists go through. And that a lot of the stuff that is reported is true but falls through behind the scenes leaving the journalist with egg on their face.

A good example is the Carroll for Tevez swap deal, that really was going to happen but fell through on the last hurdle.
