McFadden is a bit of a rotten egg and I can't see him fitting the personality type at Saints. Not a question of ability, he has loads, just don't see him as anywhere near the type of personality to fit what Nigel is creating.

I don`t think he is a what Saints need, but curious as to why you think he`s a rotten egg ? Quite the opposite imo, he`s one of the least egotistical palyers I`m aware of, and does a lot for good causes. And he`s been a terrific player in the past.
 
Tears running down Joe Steinberg's face with the news that Nick Powell has made a £4m move to Man Utd. Looks like we never had a chance!
 
It's a great shame but £4m for a young L2 player is daft and a major gamble that Saints can't afford this season.
Also do we not have enough young starlets which will take a bit of effort to bring on
 
Rumor doing the rounds today check this out ... If Di Mateo is not given the job at Chelsea Adkins will be sacked and replaced by Di Mateo...

@dankiz1 If u spend wisely it will put u ahead of your rivals. Money makes a big difference in bottom half.
 
Would be harsh on Adkins to sack him now. Who knows how Cortese's mind works though. And who knows if RDM would be interested. I suspect not, given that he could walk into most clubs in Europe right now.

Would be more than harsh, it would be insane. Part of the reason that di Matteo did so well with Chelsea is that he had the full support of the players; sacking Adkins would not, one assumes, exactly promote a spirit of togetherness, no matter what he has just accomplished. Not to mention that one would think di Matteo would have bigger things in mind than little old Southampton.

He was interviewed by Solent yesterday saying how well him and NC get on and how they share the clubs vision!

Swear some of you are still 8 years old, by that I mean is you read one thing and get all hysterical and over the top about it! <doh>
