Thanks for pointing out you've got a busy day. I'm sure others in this thread aren't in such a horrid predicament.
 
Went to the Ipswich Blackburn match on Saturday so had a good look at Scott Dann.

For me he looked pretty good, very very strong in the air (headed it almost over the halfway line from his own box most times). I do wonder how much he would add, as Hooiveld is probably a better allround player and aerial dominator. For me what we need is more of a sweeper upper CB with good pace and strength - im not sure how fast Dann really is as he's a big fella - I think we would be better off getting more of an athlete with pace and power to play alongside the Hoover.

What we really want in a CB, apart from the obvious defensive qualities, is someone who is calm and consistent at playing the ball out to suit our style of passing football. Was Dann good at that?
 
Also isnt Biglia a CM? If he does come in then surely that signals the end for one of Hammond or Chaplow, possibly both. Or potentially keep one and loan JWP out to a Championship team depending on how long term Corks injury is.

Hammond or Chaplow I would have thought, Adkins rates Prowse very Highly.

All the evidence is pointing to it. Huge picture on the stadium, very regular playing time in pre-season and a start against Man City. The club loves this guy and having seen him play several times now it's really not hard to see why.

It wasnt the blackburn approach at all really, it just got clipped down the channels, so very hard to tell. For me thats why Jose and Jos fit in well - they are both good with the ball at their feet compared to someone like the Jedi etc
 
So I've been somewhere with no mobile signal or internet access for the weekend (you guys should really try it sometime), anything I should know about?

Just watched MOTD2 and very pleasantly surprised by the city game, couldn't believe we were leading, a bit more luck and we'd have won (and a bit less and we'd have lost 6-2, but hey).

I see Gastón's got his heart set on St Mary's, any of the "it's ridiculous you're even talking about him" crowd eaten their words yet? ;)

I'd have thought that it simply signals we won't be getting Biglia. No need to add to that position at all.

Skeptical on all these twitter accounts as a rule, but I'll keep an open mind for a while.

In other news, Cody Cropper starting again for the U21s, are we to infer that we have signed him? Long trial otherwise.
