From today's presser - DF does not expect to do any more transfer business. HMMM - we'll see and I'll be glad when the window closes.

That's depressing. Short on a Striker, a LB, Maybe a CB. Doesn't look like we are going to address any of them.
I agree, but we are in slightly better shape than at the beginning of the window and I expect Toffolo to play tonight. Watkins did OK on Tuesday, albeit against fairly weak opposition!!!

So Farke states that there will be no more transfers in this window. That's it folks - can't get rid of this feeling that we are will struggle against the stronger sides in Championship. Will the Huddersfield model work for NCFC? On the evidence of the 4 games so far - no.

So, are you happy that we might experience the same fate in this new, experimental season in that we might finish in the bottom 6 (or worse)? If this season is to do with longer term planning then most would agree that "no gain without pain" is acceptable but with so many disappointments in recent seasons I am not convinced, along with others, that we are about to endure another one.

If we're in the Premier in two years time? Yes, I'd go for that!

Of course it's unlikely to go as well as Huddersfield, but something had to be done to shake this lot up. I'm still optimistic it will go the right way. We'll see.

But what is the alternative? More transfer fees we don't have the money for? Continued high wage bill not covered by income? More debt we cannot afford to repay? The Board have instructed the Financial Director to set a budget which means we live within our means and within that budget Webber has a free hand. It might be drastic and it may or may not work but the Board has a LEGAL duty to maintain the financial integrity of the Club and this they are doing. Whether success on the pitch follows only time will tell but, in my view, there is no alternative even though people have got to accept that the days of us paying big transfer fees and high wages is well and truly over. Look at the large numbers of youngsters brought in over the last few months - that is the way forward. I doubt that it will have the success within 2 years that Huddersfield have enjoyed - McNally 5 year plan mark 2 perhaps?

Stats today: NCFC possession 72%, shots 15, on target 7, corners 6, fouls 5, goals zero. Millwall possession 28%, shots 11, on target 5, corners 5,
fouls 13, goals 4. NCFC seven shots on target 0 goals, Millwall five shots on target 4 goals. Conclusions please. I am listening to Radio Norfolk and the callers are making virtually the same remarks in defeat as were made last season. Ok folks let's brace ourselves for bottom 6 but all will be better next season. Where have I heard this before?
