I think it is a shame that he has gone but I stand by any decisions made by the management and the board as I trust what they are doing is in the best interest of the club however personally I would have wanted to see him stay.
Regarding Patto's 'sacking'. I read on a forum somewhere (so it's gospel ) that Mark was on a week-to-week contract. If that's so, then it's a release not a sacking surely? Maybe the term 'sacked' is just to sensationalise the story. Dunno. Although still not sure I'm in agreement with Mark Patterson leaving the club. All the best Mark. Good servant of GFC.
Seen Scott Wagstaff's name being branded about again on websites. He's been released by Charlton so would be a freebie.
Joe Devera and Simon Ferry among players released by Swindon as they need to half their budget..would be great signings
I did mention Joe Devera and have seen us linked to him again in the last 24 hours. Could be excellent competition for both Fish and the centre backs, maybe Devera could be the man we sign. Also eligible for the Venezuela National team
According to the last post in this thread Cody has now officially taken his kids out of their school to move them down to Kent. http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/30441-Cody-McDonald/page4?
The word on twitter is that we are about to sign Ipswich Town winger Andy Drury. Local lad who was born in Sittingbourne, 29 years old and played 30 games this season for the Tractor boys. Had a three month loan last season at Crawley but I don't really know much about him.
Fatty Evans said he couldn't sign him because he was on such high wages at Ipswich. So if they couldn't afford him, what chance do we have?
Love the rumours and all the 'we ' are interested in this player or that player, but Martin Allen hasnt been on holiday yet and not sorting budgets with the chairman until his return.
Following on from my earlier post #77 which I never completed because I was using a mobile - I remember Drury something like 3 years ago, I think he was playing for Luton Town at the time and they got Charlton in the cup. On winding up a2c an addick on the old BBC606, telling him to watch out for Drury, my response was met with the usual wum suggestions by a2c, who tried as usual to report me to the beeb mods. So I thought it was absolute classic when Drury equalised TWICE in that game at the Valley and the second coming in the dying minutes of the game
