NEW STRIKER SIGNS FOR PNE.........Juvhel Tsoumou Would seem like the signing of a new striker is done and dusted bar the ink drying on his signature. An interesting one is this and will deffinately give Phil Brown options up front in the goal scoring department. It might mean the Mellor is about to leave for pastures new, but I personaly hope that doesn't happen. See the link below for more details. http://www.lep.co.uk/sport/football/pne_look_set_to_sign_congolese_striker_1_3657335?commentspage=0
Is the long awaited left back about to arrive Twitter rumour on this man http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_O'Brien
Refer to the last comment on previous page maclad... Also see http://www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10266~36417,00.html
Sorry maclad forgot to post the combination............ Seriously though I have just tried all the links and they seem ok......but no matter it's a new Left Back that counts...
As some will be aware there has been a "Meet the Manager tonight in Lancaster". 8/8/11 Reports on what Phil Brown had to say in answer to questions posed are starting to filter through from this meeting on various forums, and if true will no doubt cause some controversy among many PNE supporters. I will not comment further at this juncture as it would appear prudent to have confirmation before passing any comments. Hopefully by tomorrow things will be much clearer once the dust has settled. Below is a summary of what Phil Brown had to say, borrowed from the LEP forum and posted by "Phantom Winger" (hope he doesn't mind). Phantom Winger Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 12:03 AM "From the fans forum". We are in meltdown IMHO. iF THE KIDS DONT COME GOOD WE COULD BE SCREWED. There are players who after Saturday's performance will never play for Preston again. ■There are 4 managers in contact with Brown regarding Neil Mellor ■Darrel Russell has had more than enough changes and failed to take them. He is very unlikely to be seen in a PNE shirt again. ■Carter can't find himself a club - he thinks he can attract a £10,000 a week contract. ■The only thing holding Keammar Daley up is agents fees. ■New German striker is a "back of the goal" striker - something we don't have at the moment. ■Was interested to learn Ricardo Gardener had been released - hinted he may be in contact. ■He has 34 left backs at the club this summer but no financial backing to take any action. ■Daniel Devine and Seanen Clucas will play tomorrow. ■Isn't convinced by 4-3-1-2 formation but for the time being has no other choice. ■Jordan is still on trial. A German left back is also still on trial. ■He'd never heard of Luke O'Brien. ■He cannot sign anybody on a transfer fee. ■Said had good relationship with Maurice Lindsay will voice his opinions like about Keith Tracey but understands the finances of the club and he concentrates on the football side, whilst understanding the finances which are out of his hands. ■Still believes he made the right decision to manage us (rather than Burnley). Still thinks he has a good squad (with additions) to get promoted possibly cash injection in Jan if we are doing well. ■Rates the youth set up and mentioned Devine, Miller, Clucas and Middleton. Sven was asking about Clucas and Middleton reminds him Of Paul Scholes. The linkflightshotels with Ireland has been reinstated as this was a "no brainer". ■Looking at adding to his back room staff eg goal keeping coach but about juggling budgets. Any thoughts on the above ?????
Phil is in for the long run, no money but neither have Bournemouth for the last 3 years and they've performed wonders
How do you feel about PB slating individual players in public maclad ????. I thought that we had eradicated this type of man management when DF went. Been down for ticket's today (for tonight's game) for myself and the grandson....Total cost...£6.00....cheaper than a packet of ciggies.. Asked how the tickets were selling......and judging from the response I got...we shouldn't arrive too early we might get picked to play.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It has just come to my knowledge that PB did NOT slate any individual player OR anyone connected with the club last night. He did say that Russell had not made the most of his opportunities and that is all. Any other interpretation you may see re this subject is purely the personal view that individuals have read into PB's answers. It is important that people post the facts, and that includes me.
Have PNE finally found the Left back they have been desperately looking for. ??????. Alexander Kruek. German LB from VfL Osnabrück http://www.fussballdaten.de/spieler/kruekalexander/2011/ Maybe, just maybe, this is the one....
Beat me by 10mins you rascal. http://www.lep.co.uk/sport/football/pne_sign_congolese_striker_1_3666804 The earlier post by myself on a new German fullback would seem to be completely up the creek, as the new player from "Alemannia Aachen" was obviously Tsoumou. I was only the messenger though.. AND..... Preston line up Smith loan Skysports.com understands Preston are lining up a loan swoop for Norwich defender Steven Smith. The left-back was close to a permanent move to Aberdeen after spending the second half of the season on loan at the Scottish club. Craig Brown, though, feared he would be priced out of a deal and Preston are ready to take advantage. Preston manager Phil Brown is eager to strengthen his team after a disappointing start to the season. The former Championship club suffered a 4-2 defeat against Colchester on the first day of the League One season and needed two late goals to get past Crewe in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...091842,00.html Plus Daley is rumoured to have been at last night's game, or maybe that is up the creek as well..
"The earlier post by myself on a new German fullback would seem to be completely up the creek, as the new player from "Alemannia Aachen" was obviously Tsoumou. I was only the messenger though". Oops up the creek yet again , PNE ARE still looking at a new German full back as well as Smith. So please ignore the above tripe, my original post re the German left full back is still valid..
Wouldn't take too much notice of that site maclad, half of them are lashers and dingles... and the other half belong to the "Manic Optimistic Club"...(there are some exceptions of course) PB did say the player's agents were holding the job up, when he met the supporters at Lancaster..
You get the impression that Phil Brown sees Smith as the best of the trialist left backs etc, so fingers crossed he signs for us...
Smith has signed for PNE this afternoon. Free transfer: 12 month contract with the option of further 12 months. http://www.pnefc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10362~2418322,00.html This could be a really good bit of business by Phil Brown and if this Smith is half as good as the late Jim Smith at left back (PNE) then that will do for me.. Will he play against the Irons or maybe a place on the bench, it will all depend on his fitness levels. So a new striker and left back inside of the week with the possibility of Daley to follow, things are starting to fall into place Northenders.
