Going for the two hundredth thread reply with this one... If PNE get promoted then the players may well get a rise to compare with the lower end of the Championship going rate, if it happened maybe Carlisle will accept what's on offer. But then again he is a Pro footballer so who knows..
Been a bit quiet on the Preston front today, I find this very strange indeed particularly as TODAY was supposed to be " D DAY" the D being Daley signing for PNE. Still time but the clock is ticking, if nothing happens between now and midnight will tomorrow be known as D DAY + 1 ?????? . Hell I must be becoming desperate posting stuff like this. And even laughing at myself as well..
Hi!! again finneyfan.. I have to admit that this site is not as yet turning out to be how I had hoped it might. Difficult to understand how so many people take the time to view articles/comments, yet for whatever reason choose not to contribute by way of leaving comments. I do miss many of the Northenders no doubt about it, no point in telling porkies it's a fact. I will soon be having to make some decision about where I go from here if things dont improve, so anything is possible..
Occasionally I have a look in on another PNE forum just to see if anything interesting is happening. I don't like the site much to be honest so never comment on there, but had a look today and spotted a reference to one of the PNE young players suffering a serious facial injury in the City centre on Saturday night. One or two believe the player to be Devine. I sincerely hope that this is just another ridiculous rumour (the forum is known for it), as Devine has a terrific future ahead of him if he continues to to develop as he has done so far. I am not treating the rumour seriously but slightly worried about it none the less.
I neverv go on that forum plummy. can't believe half of what is said and no respect for other peoples views.
The rumours re Devine having received a serious facial injury are persisting unfortunately, but I say again it is only rumour so hope that is all it is. Would very very bad news if the rumour was found to be true.
Out for 4 weeks, Conor Mc to full back, McLean to centre back, young Devine will learn being a footballer will attract nutters to you when out in town
Bad news is that Maclad, bad news for the young lad and bad news for Phil Brown. Mclean will obviously replace him, and assuming Conor is fully fit (although not match fit) he no doubt will play at right back. The thing is that I am sure that PB is looking to have a settled team and we haven't had one as yet, so he will be disappointed with this unfortunate news. Having said that If Devine had been available AND Coner, Devine might have been left out anyway. I think that 4 weeks might be a tad optimistic depending on how serious the injury is, but hope you are right..
Maclad, I would add that Phil Brown, Horton and ML were at the reserve game last night. I did think it a bit strange all three being there at the time, but didn't attach any importance to it, but maybe all three being aware of Devine's problem. Is it possible that Conor Mc is not match fit as yet and and PB and Horton were assessing MORGAN to replace Devine ?????.........Still doesn't account for ML being there, but maybe PB and Horton were explaining the basics of a game of football...
Your info is pretty reliable usualy Maclad, hope this is true as from what little has been seen of him supporters were impressed. He would take time to bed in and get match fit and used to English football, but he might give us that inventiveness that I think is missing. Only time will tell if he does come to PNE.
Maybe the Dingles are the other club. Wonder why he wasn't selected to play against County ???? I know he had picked up a minor injury but if he was fit enough to be on the bench (and used), then surely he was fit enough to start the game. I don't think he will go to be honest, but if the right offer came in then ML might just snatch some body's hand off. It would cause one mighty big uproar if that were to happen.
It looks like Daley is coming to Deepdale. I have copied comments taken from the LEP site (I don't post on the site). The comments were posted by Phantom Winger so I do hope that he doesn't mind. The information has been taken from the "Jamaica Gleaner link". Phantom Winger Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 12:27 PM Reggae Boy Keammar Daley should now be settling in England, after leaving the country yesterday to take up a two-year contract with English League One club Preston North End. Midfielder Daley, who was one of the stars for Jamaica during this summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States, earlier this month impressed the club's coaching staff and its fans during a two-week trial stint. His agents and Jim McKluskie, chief scout of Preston, then reportedly met to iron out a deal, details of which were agreed recently. "We are very happy that he has got a break," said Edward Seaga, president of his local club, Tivoli Gardens. "He went to trials and after scoring and assisting with goals the coaching staff was impressed. From there it was just a matter of us sitting down and working an arrangement," he added. The 23-year-old Daley, commonly referred to as one of the country's best young playmakers, will now undergo a work permit assessment with the British Home Office, which Seaga says should be seamless. Status requirements. According to Seaga, Daley meets the quota of international matches required for a player, as well as the country meets the Home Office's world-ranking status requirements. "The club has been taking care of that as it relates to work permit and by all accounts everything seems to be going smoothly," said Seaga. Added Seaga: "We just now hope that this is the start of more good things to come, as we still have Navion Boyd here, who recently went on trial in Finland, and a couple of other talented players. "Boyd during his trial stint scored two goals and won the matches that he played. However, it appears as if the coaches did not like his taking the ball and running at players approach. They seem to be looking for a player to play the traditional short or long ball game. "So he is here and along with a few others we will be working on them with the aim of getting them transferred during the January transfer window." Daley, who has been a stand-out at various national age group levels, could get his first taste of English League One competition as early as next week Friday, when Preston host Yeovil Town at Deepdale. I might be jumping the gun but it does now appear to be a done deal, and one that I am very pleased about.
Daley signs for PNE. I believe that once he has achieved match fitness (and collected his Visa) and becomes tuned in to the rigours of English football, PNE and the fans will have a talented and flair player that can excite and add another dimension to the team. Welcome to PNE and the best of luck, I look forward to seeing you play. See the link below for the official PNE announcement. http://www.pnefc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10362~2437214,00.html
