oh dear god...........the liberty has turned into a retirement village Swansea City linked with £3 million move for former England striker Peter Crouch
I think all these old age pensioners linked to us are a ploy so when they (if) they announce a new unknown player from Falkirk the pain won't feel so bad
Laugh all ya want gents , Peter Crouch is a superb talent with a bit left ....and only a bit to land him. Hope this one comes to light . If last season proved anything , we don't need a lot up front , just someone to bring a ball down , good touch and knows his way around a header. Sorry to be pleased about this news , but I've been hoping to get this " Wasted " player in his twilight .
FFS that's has to be a wind up , a respected Italian coach known for fast attacking football using a group of unknown young players ends up with a OLD player who's best years are so far behind him he needs an diary to remind him of his achievements. No wonder Frankie looks pissed off in every interview he gives
Sorry but no! He was injured through most of last season, he's 36 in January. If he was to come here for free to be used in the last 15 minutes of a game, and was on performance related pay then maybe. But he won't be so I say hell no!
Ive been asking to sign crouch for 3 years not because hes good hes average but his mrs is 10 out of 10 and would attract a bigger crowd when they expand plus she would want to sit by me
Ya , she's sweet ! Oh well guys , you guys hope no , I hope yes . We all have our opinions and reasons . He a big tall man , he doesn't have to do much except control a small area on the attack side of the center circle . Super touch , a master of heading the ball and 3 million .....SOLD .
Jenkins is being smart. He's signing all these old players and then putting a big insurance policy on them. When they drop dead with a heart attack he will make a killing, pardon the pun, for the club and put the money towards a decent striker.
Our problem these days is ..." Beggars can't be choosers " . We were a respected club our first few seasons in the Premier , players wanted to come to Swansea without money being an issue . We peaked with Laudrup , good players came and played great and wanted to play for Laudrup and Swansea . That all disappeared after Laudrup was axed ( and the manner he was axed IMO) . We've had to pay through the nose since and the high priced players coming in the door felt little to no loyalty toward Monk , Jenkins or Swansea . We have. our work cut out for us to get back but I think Jenkins reputation of the past few seasons is a issue for players coming in and wanting to leave . Guidolin is a good start to getting back to who we were but it won't work with the entire club still under Huw's thumb . So , people can all pretend we aren't " Trying " to bring transfers in , but we aren't the club that players wanted to come to in the past and we will have to take what we can get .Good Man our Huw , in the past ....not so much anymore though IMO.
I had to go off yesterday and 24 hrs later we have sunk to even more new lows. Crouch FFS 34 years old and as someone said injured all the time. if we had been offered him 5 or 6 years ago wouldn't have minded, then Llorente on the face of things looks a have tidy signing, but 3 years, when did we start signing old has beens, we are turning into Portsmouth and signing old men and if we carry on will end up where they are. Shambles.
Cork, Montero, Gylfi, Ayew would argue otherwise. Those 4 are on par, if not better than the signings Swansea made under Laudrup. We are struggling Roof because we are not spending any money. Offer enough, and they will come. It's that simple.
Seems we are preparing an offer for Ulloa of 15 million ( nobody here seems to want him ) and he doesn't wanna come . Cork was a super signing , Montero is ok. Ayew is using us as a stepping stone I believe ( he will probably get a lot of the money that we sell him for ) . He threw himself at Liverpool , when they didn't go for him , he came here . Let's look how we got Siggy , Laudrup turned Davies into a semi star from the youth ranks and we got Siggy for him . All that being said , I should have said " Strikers " in my original statement . How do you know we're not trying to spend valley , we could be trying but no one is biting and going elsewhere .
We are not beggars, far from it. It's just the club now needs to add balance to the side, with experienced as well as young players in all positions. I'm quite excited about the youngsters that we have and signed, we just need experienced players to bring them on, perhaps then we will have happy fans on here?
Perhaps you are right jäger , I just don't thing you are . Players don't want to come to Swansea like they use to and we are trying to fight that ....seemingly without success IMO .... we are bordering on beggars because of the front office is my take
Of course they want to come, football players will go anywhere that pays money, most don't give a toss about which club it is, as long as we offer the right money. If we don't go in for players then certainly they will not come. We are an attractive option for players, and if we are paying millions per year for their services then it doesn't matter to them for the most part.
But that's the only type of players we seem to attract , mercenaries . I believe the only reason Ayew came to us is the same reason as Gomis , they came on the free .... Both wanted a guarenteed money they could take with them after a season , both needed to come to a small club for guarenteed minutes to showcase themselves and move to a bigger club taking their guarenteed money with them . Didn't work for Gomis when he wanted to go to the Mideast with our money in tow , we will see what happens with Ayew .
