You are being aggressive here by calling him a muppet and using words such as bullshit in response.

Any news on Bony? Seems to have gone quiet on the possible transfer. Would give my left nut to have him back.

I never gave you ****, just pointed out something you do about this time every single year going back the 10 years or so we have been on these forums. And that is spending unrealistic sums of money on players. Your tune doesn't change, but the sums of money certainly does. We can't afford to pay £30m or even £20m on any one player, because with transfer fees like that comes huge wage demands.

Jenkins did say a couple of weeks ago that the fans would have to be patient for new signings, he's obviously never looked at this forum

Well he can't do anything unless the board agree it, long has it been thus, he's the public face of the club and gets the blame for everything by some fickle fans when they vent, for example open the 'cheque book' you tight bastard! It's not his cheque book to open!

We will not get anything major done until a few things happen imo, the new owners come in, players leave, the pre season games are over. Once that is done then maybe we will see a couple more players come in, one maybe will be a striker.

I have to disagree there, we will sign a striker before the start of the season. There is no way we will go into a new season without a recognised striker. How much we pay for one is another matter. I know Jager you say we don't have the money and or shouldn't be spending much, but don't you believe after 6 years as a PL club we should be able to compete with the likes of Palace, Bournemouth and Watford, newly promoted Borough.

Jäger doesn't care as much about how much we pay for a new striker , as he does about how much the agent gets ....lol
Any player we get now is a want and not a need in my books and the the best way to go through a transfer window ..... No knee jerk buys as time runs out , just knee jerk sellers being squeezed by time .

Roof it is a 100% need, you are happy to go into a full season without a proper recognised No.9 that would be complete madness, bearing in mind the player you want to play there you said was no way a no. 9 last season.

How would any signing be knee jerk, there is month till the start of the season, for all your we don't need a striker you, I and anyone else on here has no idea what the club is planning, if we did what you said and wait till January, then sign then that would be knee jerk as the price for anyone doubles, because if you are chasing in January you are normally in the ****.

Having looked at last seasons top scorers club by club I reckon we need a goalscorer capable of at least 15 goals in the Premier League and I'm excluding cup games which I regard as a bonus, The question is, do we have someone in the club who can do that and I don't think we have unless one of the youngsters steps up to the mark, so we need to make a wise entry in to the transfer market.

Ayew and siggy scored close to that last season with 12 and 11 goals, if they are still with us come the close of the window I can't see any reason why they cannot reach the same or better next season. As for a 15 goal or more striker, well that would be nice, but there is no guarantee of a striker coming in and getting that number. But I've seen that we could be interested in Miller Bolanos, so maybe him?

For me though a proper No.9 isn't only about goals, although that is nice as well, it is the ability to bring people into the game in the box, win a knock down, his presence causing defenders to make a mistake, I know we disagree on this, but to go into a new season without one would be suicide. I think we would probably be the first side to do it. I know signing a striker doesnt mean we will stay up but it certainly improves our chances. As you say 2 players did get a lot of goals last season and is a bonus, but we need another (a striker) who can do it as we cant keep relying on midfield to give us goals, it will eventually be our downfall.

I agree with this, Interesting that they feel from the start we needed to strengthen the spine and highlight the need for a striker and that we cant rely on midfield.

Well as it says we have strengthened in the midfield and defence, as for upfront I'm still of the opinion that player/s need to go before we sign anyone. And mate we have relied on midfielders to score goals since we've been in the premier league. Yes a striker is important but we are not a one man team.

We shall see who comes in, but for me we will be bringing in only a few more players, one will be a striker of some description and maybe another defensive player and a youngster who could step up. I think that is all that's needed with another window in January

No we are not a one man team, I agree. But no other team doesn't sign a striker because they are not a one man team and no one has suggested that if we sign a striker we will be a one man team, what it will do is give us more scoring options and that has to be a win win.

As for a youngster who could step up, I believe we had one in Grimes, but have sent him out on loan and there some good youth ready to come through but in dribs and drabs. giving them their time in the cups and especially this new Football League trophy where the 21's will be playing against L1 and L2 sides.

I don't think Grimes is ready to step up, I have only seen him in as a sub, and has a lot to learn, being at Leeds for the season will do him good, if Monk lasts that long he will bring him on as a player.
