If today's reports are correct and gomis is off to Marseile does that make mcbrunie our no1 striker?.that's all I can say is the board must have one huge trick up their sleeve....I f in hope so!!
Marseille want to pay only 30% of Gomis 's wages , we want to pay only 50% of his wages .I say sell him outright or keep him . We already have the inside track on Kanu and let's not forget Ayew in all this . We've spent a lot of time and effort turning Ayew into a striker and after a slow start time seems to have payed off . Ayew got 4 goals in his last 3 Premier games as a striker . This whole striker thing is being painted far more important than it really is IMO .
Guidolin isn't being parachuted into the front lines in panic anymore although what an airborne mission he accomplished . He has time to work Naughton at right back ,, time to work on Kingsley at left back to keep Taylor on his toes , time to get players like Ki to back to the form he had at the end of the 2014 -2015 when he scored 7 goals in his last 20 games .I wouldn't judge anyone from Monks pitiful first half of the season . Goals are goals no matter who scores them . Both times Siggy came to us , he scored the goals and striker goals dried up . Guidolin likes the team he inherited and adding Fer and Van Der Hoorne helps . . Ayew, Gomis and Kanu works for me , spending millions upon millions for ( expensive strikers ) works for others ...we'll see how things work .
Funny how you weren't to fussed on Ayew playing there when Paloschi was here and he wasn't the answer and we should sell him. yet now he is the answer. Not going to ay anymore on this, I think again we will have to agree to disagree as to them being good enough to keep us up.
I wasn't fussed , but you roll with the flow . Ayew wasn't my choice for striking but with Paloschi wanting out and Ayew with nowhere to play and finally getting results with 4 goals in the last 3 games at striker position ... I'm all in with Ayew being # 1 striker if he is to staying and taking on the role . To be fair lefty , everything I said about Ayew was prior to Paloschi leaving and Ayew ' s fine striker form the last few games while struggling in the striker role till then .Unlike some , I can change with circumstance . I also believe Guidolin can get Gomis back up and running ....... We can all pretend Gomis can't be a goal scoring machine as he showed in the past , but the truth of the matter he has a ton of goal scoring possibilities ... In the right scenario .
. Like Guidolin got Gomis back running last season. He didn't trust him then and played a winger up front before him. I believe Guidolin has no faith in Gomis and would be glad to get rid and bring someone in. I don't care if we had Mourinho, Conte, Guardiola all here at the same time they couldn't do anything with the useless Gomis.
We won't be able to sell Gomis unless the buying club are prepared to pay all his wages. So the Marseilles deal is our only viable option and at least some of his wages will be off our bill. I hope and suspect we have a striker lined up behind the scenes.
Your off your head roof ,. We cant go another season without a proper quality striker. Ayew is not the answer...He wont score enough goals for a start. we need to splash out some serious money for a top quality striker to give us any chance of doing something this season. we cant afford to have another season like we have just had and guildo has not fully proved himself yet imo. He may have just got lucky towards the end we dont know...One certainty is we wont go far without a really good striker in the team....
Totally against paying another club 1,000,000 £ to use our player ...period . If we can't sell him outright , let's use him when we can . Last season wasn't the only time we had striker scoring problems .Our first season up ( tied for our 2nd best point total 47 ) we got 14 goals from strikers . Last season ( tied for out 2nd best point total ) we had 14 goals from strikers .....you guys can bellyache all you want about not getting an " " Expensive " striker or two coming in the door..... Couldn't care less ....but as long as we get 47 points again , I don't care who gets the goals
