I agree lefty , but beggars can't be choosers and he needs to get his career on the road before it fades away .
Its a50/50 call yes he needs to get back into work, but Leeds could really kill his career. But hen who knows he may well do something with them, despite all the problems in the background
Hear ya and this could be one tough to call but fun to follow . If Leeds could get their sh:t together and if Monk learned from his mistakes and got a few breaks ..... The moon is the limit . I believe Leeds could be on the verge of getting their troubles behind them . Garry must be excited at the possibility of running a club with a massive history . Stay tuned......
Back to Joe Allen, roof mentioned £8 million but this is precisely the fee that Spurs are asking for 23 year old Midfielder Alex Pritchard who they say is available for transfer. I don't know much about him but he hasn't played at the the level that Joe has. This puts into perspective just how much transfers are going to cost with the extra TV money. Apparently a host of championship clubs and 2 PL clubs are interested. I wonder if one of them is us.
NS it is Spurs mind and they inflate the prices of all their players, but in real terms you are right in terms of comparing. Joe is a very experienced PL, European and international player and I woul welcome him back.
There is not a lot of money in Scottish football and even though Celtic are a big club and Brendan has gone there then most premiership clubs can offer Joe a better deal financially and where celtic has the edge is they can virtually guarantee champions league football......but is that worth far better challenges in the premier league and better off money wise.....I dont know what Joe would do but if it was me i would rather play premiership football.... There is also a chance that he may stay at Liverpool anyway
Leeds are a big club only in terms of fan base and their long time ago history, Apart from that they have been nothing more than a bog standard middle of the road lower league club for over a decade.......But the club has potential and with the right manager they could easily bounce back and become strong again and should monk get the managers job then he has the credentials having a long history with us that if you do things right and are given time then monk has all the attributes to turn around Leeds and get them back to the premiership....
Positionally, I put Allen and Cork in the same category. Personally , I would play Cork before Allen any day of the week and if I'm not mistaken , Cork cost us 5 million .
http://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2016/...he-anfield-wrap-takes-charge-of-swansea-city/ Interesting outsider thoughts
Interesting that he's listed Joe, Bony, Townsend and Redmond like so many on here have as players we should look to sign. If we were to sign 3 of those 4 I'd be very happy.
Not to me valley , Allen goes forward , like Cork , much more than Leon . I'll take Cork , Ki , Siggy all day long with Fer and Leon in reserve . Allen at Liverpool has averaged 15 starts and 1 goal a season . We have sent out feelers on selling Ayew for 15 million , putting Allen in the same transfer cost or even more than Ayew is a joke in my books .
The season before last , Ki scored more goals in his last 19 appearances than Allen has at Liverpool . A few weeks back there were a few articles about us saying 15 million is the magic number for Ayew .
Season before last Ki was outstanding. Last season he was useless and bordering pathetic on times and and I'd sell him in a heartbeat if it meant bringing Joe back.
Everybody was sh:t under Monk and Ki got injured the last bit ... Lots to come from Ki yet IMO. Also Allen will do nothing toward our set piece dilemma, Fer already has .
