http://sportwitness.co.uk/swansea-west-brom-bid-e20m-striker-wants-play-pl/ They want around £25m for the striker. He's been fighting with the club and wouldn't speak to the manager nor president yesterday. £20m could be enough because his £26m release clause has expired.
No. Sky reported it as £30m, it's apparently £22m plus add ons Still a lot of money mind, but it's a barmy window.
Ash had to go to the club , after the first offer from Everton was declined , and tell Jenkin's and the clan he wanted to go to something new . And being the club we are , we did exactly what he asked . Good on the club to have this policy for a long time " Legend " calling his own terms .Bravo I say to Huw .
http://www.southwales-eveningpost.c...ansfer-plans/story-29606410-detail/story.html Interesting read. Could this explain the recent upgrade in players we are being linked with today?
If they sign the defender from Sunderland for £17m and when Jagielka is fit, he might be on the bench.
Ash is no longer legendary status for a lot of fans.....He should not have made a statement that he wanted to end his career with Swansea after Arsenal fiasco....His bullshit excuse that he wanted a change to learn off the ex Baca player is farcical at 31 years old and a put down to guildo as not good enough.....He will get Booed by our usual bunch of idiots and i wont blame them.....Ash has let the club that made him down in their hour of need....**** him he is English anyway....
Dai do we need him , the Club could and had every right to deny his move but didn't possibly not for through any sentiment but good business sense , seeing that Cardiff have just sold a player much younger and with PL experience for 2 million then 12 for Ash was an offer too good to refuse . He will have fresh challenges ahead no doubt and whether his ego can stand being not Captain and perhaps not a regular starter remains to be seen . Like you my view is if you're not wearing the shirt then you're against us .It'll be sad if he is booed and I suppose some beauts will but no acknowledgement would hurt more imo.
Williams' achilles heel is his lack of height. At just 6 foot, he always struggles with balls into the danger area. That's why opposition teams pepper the penalty area, safe in the knowledge that he would probably not make contact often enough. Too many times I saw him actually duck to avoid making any ball contact. No self respecting centre half should do that. If he had the extra couple of inches, he would be a more formidable defender. The really 'big' Clubs looked at him almost every window, and said no thank you. They saw what I, and many others, saw. Having said that, and I do not wish to demean his game time for The Swans', he has been a solid enough defender. Brave and willing to put his body on the line. He was also an excellent captain. Good luck to him.
Probably why Arsenal haven't gone in for him with their defensive crisis. Will be interesting to see if our set piece defending improves now that he's gone with more height at the back. After all Bony was our best defender at set pieces, and at the top, top level, that speaks volumes as to why a top 4 club never came in for him. I would wish him well, but I think we can finish above Everton next season
A girl friend once told me that if I had another couple of inches, I'd be a legend. So, I can fully empathise with Ash.
