Well Plymouth airport is hopelessly too small for jets. The runway is only 3,800 feet long compared to 6,800 feet at Exeter, 6,900 feet at Bristol and 9,000 feet at Newquay (aka RAF St. Mawgan). The Boeing 737 and Airbus A320, which might otherwise take you off to the Mediterranean sun, require 6,000 feet as a minimum. Even the little baby Airbus A220 requires 4,800 feet.

This is a point never mentioned but it renders the airport a dead duck, to maintain a broadly aviation related theme.

For a city of 250,000 plus....with nearly 50 miles to the nearest M-Way.....limited railway connections....and many miles from major cities such as Bristol, London, Birmingham & Manchester in England alone....how can local businesses expand when they have to use the weekly Wells Fargo coach to get to anywhere else.......this is a city that has a naval dockyard that should be better supported.

Well, better rail services would help: the south west got stitched up when the new Type 800 trains were mooted. The line to Cardiff was fully electrified although the section to Swansea was cancelled. The Penzance line is electrified only as far as Swindon (en-route to Cardiff) and slower diesel thereafter.

Meanwhile, billions are spent are spent on HS2 and rail improvements up north where votes may be bought.

Look folks. everyone who lives in this neck of the woods knows that England ends at Bristol and the Government and most others for that matter think the rest has been sawn off and moved somewhere else. Until retirement that is or a long weekend break,

I was just looking at this: did you know the signal box and semaphore signal equipment at Lostwithiel is Grade 2 listed? As well as passenger trains to and from Paddington plus Cross-Country services, this controls the china-clay freight trains crossing the mainline to go down to Fowey docks.

So is the one at Par, where the mainline meets the Newquay branch, which carries china-clay freight traffic emerging from the production sites to go up to the Potteries and to Fowey Docks as well as passenger trains to Newquay itself.

Grade 2 Listed railways for goodness sake.

They'll be a law soon to make all rail engines crossing into Devon revert to steam driven there onward.

And....no electric cars crossing into Devon as well.

I also hear that the Wright Brothers have been discussing with Devon and Cornwall Airports to introduce their latest aircraft upgrade to bring flying this far west.....therefore making it a safe no jet area.

But I hear that there are problems at the old Plymouth Airport.......the local Kite Flying Society have not agreed because the old Airport has been leased out to them as a quiet tranquil and safe spot for flying their latest kite models.

Issaka named as “outstanding player” by the Argyle report with Mickel Miller, who we haven’t seen much of, also featuring prominently.

Issaka has got a place in every recent Wales youth team. The step up to the Championship may not help his progression into the Argyle team in the immediate future but he does seem to be a very exciting prospect.

I’ve only seen a little of him but quick and direct cover what I have seen.

A few years back we had a young Greek player who I thought might go far......but at the time things where difficult at Argyle and for Klaidi Lolos.

He now plays in the National League South for Oxford City and seems to have found his level....scoring 10 goals for them.

Started at Olympiacos....moved to C Palace and then to Argyle.

    He's now 22 yrs old....6ft 4in tall.....and represented Greece U19's twice...scoring once.

Simon Hallett has bought back some of the Argyle Green shares held by Michael & David Mincberg who have moved on ?

Hallett now has 87% of PAFC shares again.....not sure what this means.....we know with Hallett it's the love of the greens......Mincberg's I assume was just a financial transaction....best gone then.

There's talk of a rights issue though. That means both Simon Hallett and the other shareholders having the right, but not the obligation, to buy more shares.

It looks as if Ipswich will be putting Panutche Camara out on loan this coming season.....he has had hardly any football because of injuries during his season at Ipswich.

Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna commented that there had been interest in him from various clubs.

I would be surprised if Argyle would be one of them....we've moved on from those days....and the Championship might be too much for Camara who needs regular matches to get him up to match fitness.

A few comments about Blackburn's manager Jon Dahl Tomasson and his assessment of Niall Ennis's condition AFTER they gave him a contract has riled a few on pasoti.

Unable to play him at present because his fitness level isn't as good as they wished.

Ennis was carrying a groin injury for the last six critical matches in our run in to winning the Div One title.....what did Tomasson expect a player in tip top condition ready to start a new season.

They grabbed him mighty quickly not long after the season had finished.....what did they expect a player that hadn't been through nine months of a hard season.....if they feel short changed we'll have him back.....that is assuming that Ennis would come back of course....I felt he left rather quickly as if he didn't want to be here.....surely not just money calling.

And they will have done a medical for sure. It's a stupid thing to say, betraying their own incompetence if anything.

We all knew Ennis wasn't 100% fit, it was in the local paper. This was also true of a number of other players. That was clearly stated to be the reason for squad rotation which upset some fans: to keep all the players as fit and ready as possible, each getting game time, whilst not over-stressing the inevitable niggly injuries that were bound to crop up during a long hard season.

We were completely fair with Norwich and Aston Villa when Mumba and Azaz were injured: they had to give the all-clear before they went back into the team.

Caveat emptor Mr. Tomasson, caveat emptor.

Caveat emptor notDistant......I thought you were swearing there for a moment.

Very true...if they feel more superior than little old Argyle....surely their superior medical staff would have rejected Ennis at a medical......what did they expect after a hard nine months for no fee required....compensation.

Story about nothing really. I do think "little ole Argyle fans" get a bit defensive and protective about the club. Coach says player not fit shock horror. He probably isn't so not really a story there is there. He left. Who cares now. We do get caught up with ex player stories don't we. You only have to read it on pasoti when an ex player signs somewhere or even becomes a free agent. Will we sign him or who he has signed for. I really really don't care once they've left. Wish them well and move on.

No home friendlies to go to ?

Resurfacing of the pitch will not be completed in time....so the FG Rovers game will be behind closed doors at Harpers Park.....and maybe streamed.

The Salford game has been cancelled completely.
