We've been to see Florrie half a dozen times, and have always had a busy day then a rest day (like Gil above), with the rests being a water park or a little bit of shopping and the villa pool, before a show (like Medieval Times).
We've never been by ourselves, though Mrs. A. would love to (both of us really) and we may well do the west coast bit, like Exile above, soon, to see what it would be like to relax over there :emoticon-0148-yes:

Well back home after 3 days of a fortnights break, pissing down whole time.I see Cumbrian has got the same up in Scotland.
Faired up yesterday, Mrs got all excited at the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights last night but no chance , as soon as it got dark clouds returned and woke up today to another downpour which is forecast to last til Thursday, you couldn't make it up.

Had a great week in Salou, weather was great, hotel was spot on, done a few trips and really enjoyed it. On the way home at the airport I felt dreadful, came home with the Covid, been ill for 2 weeks since we got back.

I have so many fond memories of Tarbert. Have a pint for me in the Islay Frigate if it's still going.

What a magical place, I'm jealous.
Row
Spoke to a few locals inbetween the downpours and the Frigate looked really nice but has been taken over by two Indian brothers and completely ruined it.
Meals and service apparently is sh1t so gave it a swerve, nothing stays the same these days, people get a good business going sell up making a killing and the place is never the same afterwards.

So sad to hear, I'll keep the fond memories and not be tempted to relive them. It's a long way to go for disappointment!

Still a magic part of the country, hope you enjoyed the holiday regardless of the weather. I remember it bucketed down for a solid fortnight once when we were there as bairns, my dad drove us down to Campbeltown and we saw Sinbad and The Eye of The Tiger in the local flea pit <laugh>

It's hard work doing the parks. I was doing 25k steps a day every day for a fortnight.

Doing the west coast for my 50th next year. San Francisco, Yosemite, LA, Vegas.
Done the West Coast a few times now and loved it.

If you get the chance (if the roads open) the drive through the Tioga Pass from Yosemite to Lee Vining is spectacular. From there head up throw Carson City and Reno before heading across to San Fran via Sacramento. Bloody fantastic drive.

Hope you are recovering mate.
- that'll teach you not to go to Salou again <laugh>
I went there for a cheap get away trip and couldn't believe how bad it was, it felt like being in a run down seaside resort with greasy spoon cafes.
- the best bits were the trips to Tarragona and Barcelona.

Loved all of them tbh although it was a few years since I was last at Salou. Barcelona is a fab place although I thought the football ground was minging.

Parts of it are rundown but the seafront was lovely, it was a nice lazy week in the sun
