The cases have showed up in the spare bedroom, I am in for 5 days worth of "when are you going to pack your case"
When it comes to packing cases my wife turns temporarily insane for a few days, starts packing then unpacks several times to make sure certain things were packed.
It takes me less than 5 mins, 4 or 5 pairs of swimming shorts, 7 or 8 t-shirts or vests for during the day, 7 or 8 clean t-shirts / shirts for the night time, 3 or 4 pairs of shorts for the night time. Pool flip flops, trainers and a cap for my baldy bonce. We have had the same dance for the last 25 years, love her to bits but holiday packing turns her into an aggressive lunatic for several days.
Anyway almost time for the off, Hisaronu here we come......never been before, looking forward to some turkish bait and may indulge in a few boat trips as they reckon Olu Deniz is nice

Off to Turkey in August, looking at average temperatures I had better remember my hat, also ordered a translation book, no doubt at all will try to order 2 beers and be served a goat with olives!

I think that it’s a genetic thing, found only in those with XX chromosomes as Mrs K is exactly the same.

There you go. Bir keçi ve iki zeytin lütfen. If that doesn’t work try Kız kardeşin tütün parası için keçileri emiyor You can thank me later. Never had Turkish beer before. Let me know what it’s like.

My wife’s the same, when we go to Chile she insists on taking presents for all the family and friends. The suitcases appear at least a week before the day of the flight. It’s funny to watch her try and squeeze them all in between the few bits of clothing.
I’m lucky if I get half a cabin case for my stuff, which is minimal as we stay with her folks and can wash our clothes if needed.
I can pack my stuff in about 5-10 minutes but the people on the security scanners must think we’re opening a sweet shop <laugh>

I feel your pain mate, she tips up with enough sandwiches and crisps to feed the entire plane, I used to argue with her that we really didnt need to take that many sandwiches or snacks until we got delayed one year and she hasnt let me forget it.

All good things come to an end.
We’ve had an awesomely fantastic 12 days in Sanur, Bali. Most of it was spent by and in the hotel pool. I read two books, The Fry Chronicles by Stephen Fry and Blind Eye by Stewart Macbride. Both quite enjoyable.
We spent a day with our driver, Deddy, who took us to Mount Agung, an active volcano, where we saw the sun rise, an experience that we will remember forever, then onto a royal park and finished off the day at Mengening water temple, where we did a water purification blessing. Neither of us are remotely religious but standing underneath the water, washing away our sins was a surreal moment!
We ate out in a different restaurant every night and then gravitated towards our favourite bar, Linga Longa, where we watched live bands that played 70s and 80s classic rock, that just so happens to be our favourite. I’ve promised the band that I’ll get up on stage next year and do a song with them. We also drank and drank Bintang. I must have put on around 10kg in the last 12 days, although I’m sure a few runs, bikes and swims over the next few weeks will shift it.
Today I got myself a tattoo that I’d promised myself I’d get thirty years ago, plus another two smaller (but more important) ones commemorating our pets, sadly passed.
So, our flight is at 11:30am this morning and back to Perth and reality. Until next year when we do it all again.

Sounds like a belting time mate. We're promising ourselves a spell in Bali then onto Oz when we retire in 7 years (if we make it that far)! We want the time to do it justice, maybe spend a couple of months over that way.

Currently sitting in a glamping site near Estartit, it's hot, really, really hot. I don't think the heat has effected me at all so far, but today my face is melting.

Been for a 30k bike ride and a 800 meter swim, now off to the mini disco with the grand daughter.

Are you at Castell Montgri? Never been there myself but stayed many times just down the coast at La Siesta at Calella de Palafrugell. So many happy memories, and what a stunning coastline.

This was our fourth year in a row going to Bali. It’s kind of the Spain equivalent for us adopted Aussies. Like Spain there are the touristy and not so touristy places. Sanur was good for us as it’s generally quiet, as like you we are nearing retirement (four years to go for both of us) and our days of party animaling have long gone. If they were ever there. When we do retire we’ve talked about spending a month of our winter in Bali to keep our old bones warm!

We're not that far, we come ever year.
Calella is getting a bad reputation now with the immigrant thieves and pickpockets.
