would be very surprised-and disappointed- if zak wasn't offered a new contract, but can see quite a few players offloaded this summer, including c.martin, wilbs, barnett, ward and lappin, possibly crofts as well. which means quite a few newcomers and maybe a couple promoted from the academy.

Remember youth players don't count towards the 25 man squad.

But I think K Smith may now be 20 and the same with Rudd. I don't know when they turn 21, but they may therefore have to be counted in the 25.

Assuming we stay up that is.

    I reckon:

Out: Barnett, C.Martin, Crofts, Lappin, Wilbs
Out on loan: Korey, Adeyemi, Francomb, Dawkin

Leaves a few spaces and I'd like to see come in some (or all) of the following: Snodgrass, Rodriguez, Bridcutt, Matt Phillips, Koren.

Should be an interesting summer - we need to keep hold of Zak although I reckon that Bennett/Ayala will be our centre back pairing next year.

Does nobody think we will try and bring in a more established Premier League player?

Will we break the 15k wage limit we have, in the Summer?

Im sure the cap will be raised accordingly, but we arent going to break the bank. The majority of players are on more than players at ours so we need to improve it slightly not only to try and bring in new players but to ward off others for our players. We may see 1 or 2 from the prem whos in a situation like naughton but i expect most of our signings to come from the lower leagues again!

I certainly don't expect us to bring in somebody that will cost us 30-40k a week. I'm just wondering if we'll try and attract somebody that may cost us 20-25k a week.

Yes I think we will. Pl has hinted that we have raided a lot of the talent from the championship. Maybe someone from one of the relegated teams. Wage structure permitted

Zak is probably our first choice defender and Ayala looks his best partner so far. Ayala is the only player with a 4 year contract as far as I know. Not sure how long Ryan Bennett is signed up for. Barnett seems to be the most likely casualty in a clearout. Ward may chose to go if he's not first choice I guess.

..... i would guess that the players will have clauses in their contracts about pay rises if they can avoid relegation, and they will surely deserve it. i agree with oldcanaries about the summer exits, with ward probably included. i don't think we will be bringing matt phillips in though, sunderland one of the clubs sniffing round him, and they would offer much more in the way of wages.

You saying that eadie, Brad johnson turned them down in turn for us in the summer! Matt phillips will be a wanted man if blackpool dont get promoted, sort of player that lambert would look at but will have to wait and see if we do.

The only summer clearout happening at Carrow road this summer will be when Holty goes for his end of season dump

We have to face facts that our better performing players will be watched. And I can understand them wanting to improve their contracts. If any player turns down an improved offer then he is taking a risk. I expect ANY of our players would be kissing a different badge if they got a big money move. I just think PL has manouvred the squad so that we CAN afford to lose players as despite the reticence, there are still some very good players in the leagues below us who I'm sure could step in.
