I would rather us use cornell then use the 2 players we alreaady have, i know cornell is nothing quite special yet but surely he is at least good enough for a number 3 position? maybe keep 1 of them or try somebody new
Tremmel had one bad game. You don't sell players for that. If he doesn't shape up in the reserves and in training that's different. Dobbie deserves first team football and Rodgers has been disingenuous in saying he needs him. He has no intention of using him imo. Would hate to lose Agustien but that might happen to pay towards the Siggy fee if we can pull that move off.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17320481 well it looks like Brendan has no other immediate plans than to manage us
Tremmel may have had one bad game but the whole idea of an experienced back up keep is that he performs when called upon, he is paid to step in and do a job at short notice and perform without a bedding in process, as far as im concerned he failed to perform the task required. If Cornell had made the same mistakes i could understand, being young and in-experienced you could forgive him, but i cant forgive an experienced guy who fluffs his lines when called upon to do his duty, whats the point in paying decent wages to somebody like tremmel if he cant back up when he is supposed to back up?? It sounds extremly harsh and probably is,but id rather save the money and invest in youth than pay 2 non performing goal keepers a premier/championship wage which they arnt really earning and dont contribute when called to perform for the team
Can't disagree that Tremmel failed when called upon - he was really poor on the day - but you are seriously advocating selling a player after one bad game? Nobody deserves that, and Graham would have gone after day 1. Thank **** Rodgers is the manager.
I see your point, and its fair. I got no axe to grind with tremmel or moriera but IMO we just as well use cornell after he comes back from Hereford or sign somebody as instead. From my info and what limited games ive seen of the reserves they arnt exactly standing out, the key aspect i suppose is what wages these guys are on, my guess is that both players are on decent money, i would prefer to keep one of them and supliment the other position with cornell or a youth product,i dont see a problem with us doing that. When lesser players have been called into the team this season they have stepped up to the mark, maybe the guy was just unlucky but i always beleive you create your own luck, considering the sizr of tremmel he didnt like to command his area and that would be something i expect a larger goalkeeper to be able to do. I can revise my list to include moriera OR tremmel but one of them definatly needs to move on, a number 3 keeper should be coming from our own ranks IMO.
I came on to ask the question, How good is this Swansea team? I haven't seen much of them but they were certainly the team who have played the best football against Spurs this season so far.
Spurf, we play our football whatever the situation. We play as a team because we can't afford to buy the individual brilliance that the top teams can. We have a great spirit in the dressing room and this transmits to the field. Our continental style has been honed in the lower divisions for several seasons and all our players are trained to be comfortable with the ball - even the keeper. Should we stay up, and it now seems likely after today's great result against Man City, we hope the extra revenue next season will enable us to add quality to what we've got. That should make us a team that will give any other side a game at any time. Happy days.
Swansea are a credit to football and we need that these days. Beating City with all their millions just emphasises that a good team can still get results and beat a team of primadonas. Well done
