We need to fill in a gap or two, but we also still need to keep feeding the youth conveyor belt with talent. Man City just proved that even with 430M and 270M in wages you can still buy chokers.

any damn fool can spend £zillions and a year later wonder where it all went (the reserves and the bench?).

    My choices would be:

    Buy:
    Podolski
    M'Villa
    Hazard

    Sell/Release:
    Almunia
    Squillachi
    Denilson
    Arshavin
    Chamackh
    Park
    Bendtner
    Vela

    Loan Out:
Ryo - Bolton Again if they stay up
Campbell - PL Team again Bolton would be good.
Frimpong - Love to see him go to Swansea on Loan

Think most are being harsh on Dempsey. Whilst I agree he may lack the technical ability of some of our players he has the passion and work rate (not to mention versatility) to more than make up for that. You can guarantee his head wouldn't drop like so many Arsenal players have in the past and you need that proper team ethic to make your squad gel. I think he'd be a fantastic addition and would easily strengthen our squad. I'd start him over the likes of Gervinho/Benny/Ramsey in a heart beat. For £10m I'd snap him up (not personally..).

It all depends on how well Rosicky and Arteta play next season. It is likely that they will play better, Arteta having a full season with us and he should play with more confidence and Rosicky appears to be coming back to his original form. But especially Rosicky, if he comes back to his original form or close to it, we won't need anyone new. Add Wilshere, Diaby, Ramsey, Coqs and OXO in the centre, then we should be ok to go. However, should Wenger decide to buy a top class midfielder, then i would like M'Villa and let Song, Arteta, Wilshere and Rosicky concentrate on attacking.

I do understand where you're coming from but the benefit with Clint 'from the hood' Dempsey is that he can also play up front if required. Basically anywhere in the opposing team's half. Useful. I also rate him as higher than the players I'd previously listed and would happily have him over them.

Meh, it's all opinions and I'm well aware I'm not with the majority. Worth noting that many were unhappy with the Arteta signing when we got him as they didn't think he was good enough and he's done brilliantly. Not the same scenario but similar in terms or how people percieve abilities (ie good, but not top 4 good).

I guess so. It's hard to tell how well we would perform if we start winning and playing with confidence. Just a little while ago we were playing some poor to average football, now we look really good. I don't think anyone would have predicted Rosicky to be playing so well, and we know he can play better. This is mainly down to confidence and now people are coming down on Ramsey. He is currently low on confidence but when he picks up form, just see how he flies.

As for Dempsey, i wouldn't say no to him. Adding top quality to our squad is a priority as we'll be off loading quite a few players over the summer, hopefully!

We have a top performing midfield without Wilshere in it. It would be hard enough benching one of them for Wilshere, and yet some of you guys want to buy 1 or even 2 central midfielders? I don't get it.

    Podolski and Vertonghen please.

I'm not intending to be annoying or anything but do you really think Arsenal will spend big enough to get players like Hazard? It just seems every summer a spending spree is predicted but it never happens.

I have it on good authority that Wenger buys a new suit and a fresh red tie every summer.

the ones he really wants are never available - but then he finds one at a reduced price as the market is closing.

i for one don't want hazard anywhere near arsenal. At the risk of sounding like another mini wenger we have great wingers coming through our academy and hazard isn't anywhere near worth the £35mil being touted about. I think we need a striker (matias suarez preferabely), an attacking midfielder (my preference kovacic) and veronghen...they shouldn't really cost all that much either and i won't be happy if we do splurge its no fun that way!

Why do we need a striker when Podolski would move up front if RVP got injured? Gervinho or Oxo would then cover the left.

you have a point though i guess i was looking at pod as more of a left winger rather than a striker
