Based on our defence performances this year... hould be wiling to fork out £70m on the defence alone!
To be honest I think the rumours the'll sell are bollox anyway. Mega clubs like Bayern don't normally sell elite players in their prime.
Allegedly we have bid £20m for Lallana, with Utd competing with us. Source - various daily rags. Think this could be a mistake if true, the bloke is 26 so where has he been for the past 8 yrs. One good season admittedly, but does that merit spending £20m on him!
big risk as Adam looked good playing at one point for Blackpool, besides he has been at saints for so long they have obviously adapted to his strengths and built on it, we would do it the other way round and he would have to fit into our system and play, is he adaptable?, havent seen enough of him to say. he might be worth the risk but saints wont sell him for what we think we can get him for, so probably a no go any way.
Plus player sales I guess? So Reina could add another £5million. Dunno if we would be lucky enough to shift Aspas too, for say £5mil. Plus Coates for a few mil
That's true. Stoke aren't exactly skint and are said to be keen on Assaidi Doubt we'd get anything for Toure, at best shift him off the wage book Kelly on loan perhaps And Agger won't go anyway for less than £20mil, which won't happen, plus he's too loyal to want to push a move
I think we will sell Kelly this summer. When he's been fit and available he's not got a look in so I don't think Brod rates him. If Agger goes, it will be £12m-£15m IMO
My mate says we've got 60 mill plus to spend on TRANSFERS Lallana was also mentioned in this thread. What's so ****ing hard?
Liverpool and Southampton are lining up moves for Cardiff City centre-back Steven Caulker, according to the Daily Mail. Caulker and his Cardiff side were relegated on Saturday after losing 3-0 to Newcastle at St.James Park. The Welsh side have gone down at the first time of asking and it is reported Caulker, who has been Cardiff’s standout player in his first season at the club, will be looking for pastures new. Liverpool and Southampton are keeping tabs on the defender, with ex-club Tottenham also reportedly interested in Caulker. The colossal figure has been the heartbeat of the Cardiff squad this season and is expected to move out of Wales as there is a release clause in his contract which means he can move for a fee of £6 million. Liverpool have had a fragile back-line all season, with the likes of Johnson, Sakho, Toure and Agger having come under intense scrutiny. The title has slipped away from the Merseyside outfit and Rodgers will be keen to reinforce his back-line. Mauricio Pochettino is also looking to bolster his defence with only Dejan Lovren and Jose Fonte his capable first choice centre-backs. Speaking after the game, Caulker said he was willing to stay in Wales to help the side come back up: ‘I signed a four-year deal here so I’ll be looking to get us back promoted next season.’ http://www.squawka.com/news/liverpo...e-cardiff-city-defender-steven-caulker/107354
I think Lallana is a good player and he's certainly an upgrade on Moses and Aspas. But to spend around £20m on him is ridiculous. If we're spending that much on a player, I'd expect the likes of Coutinho, Sterling etc to be thinking "f*ck me, this could take our place". £20m on a player with only one good season, at a small club, and is 26 - it just reeks of Carroll, Adam, Downing etc.
