SUMMER 2K14 Transfer Rumour Thread...

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by Skylarker, Jan 31, 2014.

  1. I've said Flanno is better for a month or so now. He was better than Glen going forward today too IMO

What about De Guzman? He's on loan to Swansea isn't he?

Edit - I meant as an attacking option obviously, not as a FB option before any smart arse says otherwise <whistle>

I would pick him over Johnson.

I would play anyone over Johnson, but I'd love Rodgers to go back to what he started doing - giving the youth a go and putting his trust in them. McLaughlin is a real talent.

I think lfc should switch Flanagan to rb and put cissohko in. Frankly Johnson didn't merit a pass out to him today. If I'd been playing I'd have turned away from him as my only out ball and smashed it in the stand... It was safer

  6. Cissokho is probably the only playing I'd chose Johnson over <laugh>

As an outsider and long time admirer of Liverpool, how about Steven Caulker at Cardiff, young English and can play either LB or CB, if Baadiff go down a deal could be done.
Also agree that Borini is nowhere near good enough for a side looking to compete for the Prem and CL next season. A good deal of strengthening of the squad will be needed to achieve that, so BR will have to spend very wisely.

  8. I'd imagine you'll see the words "Spurs reject" in response to that <ok>

IMO, he's good but not good enough.

I take your point, but most if not all players are a reject from one team or another..

Don't want to shake the team up too much, 2/3 quality signings would do and a couple others to make up numbers imo. A new fullback to keep Johnson away from the team, a box to box midfielder as we don't have that and we need more options there and another winger, someone as good as sterling is becoming.

i think we should give Ibe more chances, see if he can step up.

was a point i personally didn't think there was a lot between him and Sterling (who else is going to admit that :bandit: ), except one has had a run in the team and turned out to be superb, doesn't Ibe deserve that chance?

also Mclaughlin,Llori,Tex,Suso,Alberto, these are all players i would like to see given chances, maybe this tour they can do there stuff as we will have a lot of players who would have been at the world cup.

I'm sure those players will get a go in pre season.

I expect Texeira to take up a more prominent role next season. Alberto to go on loan. Ilori to join our first team squad and join our CB merry go round (he could be a first choice rcb), Mclaughlin needs some time training with the first team like Flanagan.

How has Ibe done on loan?

Suso will be back from his loan too.
Mclaughlin is someone who could be very good (was better than flanno imo).

heard he has done ok, not seen him play personally though.

dont think he is good enough, but heard good things about coady on loan as well, will he get given opportunities? see him as another spearing myself.

Suso and Borini could prove very important with our extra CL games next season.

At a minimum we can expect an identical best 11 with a stronger bench next season.

Borini and Suso should be much better impact subs than Moses and Aspas.

Spearing was decnt enough to do a fair role for us. He was never going to be a star but he also worked super hard, got stuck in and played with so much passion. His short passing/ball shuffling was tidy enough but he wasnt a creator or engine player so didnt offer enough for our first 11.

McLaughlin hasn't developed this season as expected. He was our top young prospect (in my opinion) at the start of the season, but he's looked inconsistent this season in the U21's, coupled with injuries. A loan move would be good for him, I think Wisdom will be a good asset for us next season.
