http://www1.skysports.com/football/...in-kazan-warned-yann-mvila-off-liverpool-move Rubin Kazan advised Yann M'Vila not to join Liverpool in January, but are aware that he has become unsettled in Russia. The France international only completed a move to Rubin from Rennes in the summer of 2013. Finances took him to Eastern Europe, with speculation linking him with a big-money move to England coming to nothing. Those rumours resurfaced in the New Year, with Liverpool said to be keen on adding his defensive qualities to their midfield unit. M'Vila was, however, warned off a switch by Rubin coach Ribat Bilyaletdinov. With interest successfully seen off, the 23-year-old remains in Russia, but there is every chance that he will be offloaded when the transfer window re-opens as Rubin are prepared to part with a disruptive influence who has struggled to acclimatise to his new surroundings. Bilyaletdinov told France Football: "He has to prove his value and work like everyone else. I don't mean that he doesn't work, but we can see that he misses France. "In January M'Vila behaved badly - one day he trained, one day he didn't. "Maybe his agents had promised him something. He thought he was already in Liverpool. "I told him: 'It is not your level. If you go, you will be on the bench'. He was very disappointed. "Now I haven't seen him for a while. I have been told he is in France to cure an injury. Even if he is back to full fitness, I don't know where to play him. ------ Not exactly a glowing reference from his coach is it!
"I told him: 'It is not your level. If you go, you will be on the bench'. He was very disappointed. Been awhile since I heard a coach or player say something like this. Normally ( past few years) it was come on in the water is fine!!
Fair enough, for you was saying he was good going forward and not so good defenisvely but still better than Flanno, obviously that wasn't the case. Diame did get the better of Flanno on Sunday but Diame is a big strong and quick player, I think he could case a lot of teams problems when running at the FB like he did. It wasn't Flanno's greatest game but I still think he did well.
I think Coentrao would be a decent signing if we could get him for about ten mil, hes only 26 and is the type of fullback that would suit our style. Mvilla was/is a big no from me, typical French sulky twat with a bad attitude went to Russia for the money and now is throwing the toys out to get a move out of there because the league is awful. I also think he would struggle big time in the prem with the pace of it.
Considering he is best mates with Sakho, it is funny to see how different they are. Sakho wasn't getting chances at PSG so left to further his career and when fit, a lot of us agree, he is our best defender. I still rate Mvilla, but he has issues, Rodgers may be able to bring the best out of him though? As for Coentrao, I would be very happy and he would greatly improve our left side.
Would be better than GJ City looking for £7 million and it's the player that wants to leave, rather than being forced out. http://www.theguardian.com/football...manchester-city-summer-despite-contract-offer
Turning down the pay rise from the new contract shows his head is in the right place - looking to get played, rather than paid.
God no, not Richards. He's even more injury prone than Kelly - and lord knows how well he's recovered from it all. Kelly looks worse for it.
£7m is some cheek. That's what City would pay for him, but with his injuries... Negligible fee only.
another injury prone rb, why not, don't have enough of them any way. i say no personally, i doubt it will happen, but i would like to see Flanno and Wisdom backup to maybe Johnson (versatile RB and LB) and Enrique, but don't know who to get on improvements on them 2, i am slowly thinking Johnson might be worth keeping,Enrique is the one who is the liability, seen names thrown around but i havent seen enough of them to comment. need to get rid of kelly and coates first, they don't look any better than Paez in the youth team and certainly more injury prone than him. get Micah on a PAYE might be worth it, he isnt after the money by the looks of it so may be persuaded, unless spuds come in with a we will give you 90k a week basic but how bad is his injury problems, and what can we do dif to try and sort it?
I'm going to say some thing controvercial. We should stick with the right backss we have for next season. I think our funds would be better used else where. LB, CM, WF, CB.
not really controversial as i am sure a lot will agree. only thing i question is do you agree about getting rid of Kelly (rb) as well as Coates as it will help fund the new CB and LB. you said keep all rb's but i dont see the point personally with kelly.
I'd forgotten Kelly. I am thinking just Flanagan and Johnson. I think Johnson still has plenty to offer and Flanagan deserves his place in the team. I dont know what to do with Kelly. He was doing so well before he got this injury. Maybe he just needs more time to recover. Maybe a loan could be the best idea.
Atletico Madrid forward Arda Turan has long been known as something of a Liverpool fan and, with the Reds edging towards a stunning title triumph, the Turkey international has expressed his affection once again. This may, then, be bad news for Manchester United, who have been linked with a summer swoop for the player. Manchester United are reported to have already made a £20 million bid to sign Turan during the summer transfer window, with the 27-year-old having impressed in an Atletico Madrid side who could complete a stunning La Liga and Champions League double this season. But would Turan consider a move to Manchester United if it turns out the interest of David Moyes is genuine? The opportunity to secure a transfer to Old Trafford would undoubtedly be a great one, but his Liverpool connection may put paid to any potential switch. Turan was given a Liverpool shirt when his friend and international colleague Nuri Sahi moved to Anfield, and the coveted winger has again conveyed the depth of feeling he has towards the Merseyside club. "Yes, I have a soft spot for Liverpool," Turan told EuroSport. "Steven Gerrard is a very special player for me. Liverpool's history, the atmosphere at Anfield is really fascinating." A host of Premier League clubs are monitoring Rotherham United starlet Dan Rowe, currently impressing on-loan at Wycombe Wanderers. The 18-year-old Teesside-born defender is very highly-rated at the New York Stadium and made his debut for The Millers in October in the Football League Trophy. He spent a brief stint of work experience with Stalybridge Celtic before being snapped up by Wycombe a couple of weeks later. He has since started two games for the Chairboys, helping them to impressive clean-sheets against promotion chasing Scunthorpe United and Dagenham & Redbridge. Sources have confirmed to Sky Sports that Liverpool, Everton, Southampton and Fulham are amongst the clubs keeping close tabs on Rowe, with a view to grabbing him before he has chance to take a first-team spot with Rotherham. Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool target Romulo Borges admits he is flattered by speculation linking him with Barcelona. The Premier League trio are all keen on the Spartak Moscow man, with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers strongly expected to bolster his midfield ahead of the Reds' anticipated return to the Champions League. But the La Liga champions are also rumoured to be in the hunt for the 23-year-old, despite the fact they are currently subject to a two-window transfer embargo. And the anchorman himself says he would find it very difficult to turn down a move to the Nou Camp giants. When asked about mooted interest from Barca, he told Sport: "They are only rumours, nobody has told me anything. But I am very happy to be linked with the club. "They are a very big team, and all players want to play there. Of course I would like to play at Barca - who would not like to?" Brazil international Romulo, who joined Spartak from Vasco de Gama for £6.5m in 2012, is under contract until June 2016.
I say loan him to a team like Saints, Swansea or Villa. A decent lower PL team, if we can. Then see what he can do.
