IMO he does have technique, though he does take casual liberties with them. And he also has pace (if he cares to). He's a freestyler <laugh>

  2. He's rated 78 on my Stags game although it is in the sixth or seventh season and he's been my first choice RB throughout.

  3. I know Babbel was a RB but he was more than able to play LB too.

  4. If he does then I'd rather have Luke Shaw!

sure, but for us i don't think he had time to. you wrote it like he'd be the defensive lb.

I mean we could say this, back in the day:

    dicks (puke)
    harkness (journeyman)
    bjornebye (probably average)
    burrows (at best average)
    traore (journeyman imo)

    thats the 90s!!!!

in short for much of the 90s we had not very good left fulls, do we remember it as a disaster? no i don't cos this lends to my "you can carry a" comment

    at rb it was better

rob jones would be in the very good category for me but just tragically short.
heggem would be good and reminds me of enrique
mcatter at rb... hmmm well rwb good or average. average full back anyway

maybe so... i have no opinion as i think 18 year olds at 20mil are too big a risk. but if a guy plays in the prem chances are he can move clubs and not fall away

  7. Top quality RB and not seen anyone better in this country. Cafu is the obvious pick for the top player for that position though.

  8. It is a big risk but its not as much a risk as spending £25m on a 20yr LB thats never played in the Premier League, that was my point.

Get Kono and Shaqiri for £35m, both can plan wide and upfront.

Suso in midfield and buy a fullback for £15m and I be happy with that.

  11. £35m is a lot to spend on bench players :bandit:

I know you were probably taking the piss but Shaqiri would come straight into the team IMO, not sure about Kono, haven't seen enough of him and it is probably harsh too drop any of the front three atm. Providing we get them two players obviously <whistle>

  13. I was taking the piss but I'm not so sure Shaqiri walk walked straight into the team. Who do you drop? Suarez is a blatant no chance. Sterling is the in form player for us ATM and if he carries on then needs placing on a similar pedestal to Suarez in dropping terms. Sturridge...? Coutinho can't get into the side ATM either. Or can Shaqiri play CM?

Thought he could play in CM which is why I suggested he come into the team straight away but not so sure now, so you're probably right.

    Rodriguez > Shaw

More experienced, playing at a higher level, more developed and will be cheaper.

Can't be thinking like that if you have ambition. We need a first rate W/F to sub/compete with all of the triple S.

I want to see Aspas, Assaidi, Borini, Suso sold; if not sold then loaned; if not loaned then getting time only in dead end games.

A similar line of thinking should apply to CM - we are quite happy with Gerrard-Hendo-Allen-Lucas, yet a first rate CM is needed to compete with any of them. An ACM is harder to provision for - I don't know what we may have in the pipeline there.

Just need to fill the side with S's

    Simon
    ?? Skrtel Sakho Sissokho :bandit:
    ?? Steven ??
    Sterling Sturridge Suarez

Just 3 positions needed. Then you can have Suso on the bench <ok>
